These are my first boots, so I can only compare to hire boots. However, I found these really comfortable and very responsive.
They have a removable 'bone' in the tongue to increase/decrease the amount of stiffness for your riding preference. The inner lining has a pull-lace system so you can get it really snug and secure.
The snow spikes are a bit of a joke really - mine fell off the first time I used them and when I replaced them with the plastic studs, they fell off too! I've just noticed that they are including the spikes on the '03 '04 boots too!
Unfortunately the (4 year old) Burton CFX bindings I was using cut into the leather on the heel badly and after 4 days use the boots had one inch long gashes in the leather and the rubber heel sole had worn quite badly causing cosmetic damage.
To Burton's credit, they told me to keep them until the end of the season to get maximum use from them and they are now in the process of replacing them with the '03 '04 Burton Driver, so when they arrive I will review them! |

very comfotable and a bit stiffer than i have had previously. (i have burton motos for freestyle)
also have neat retractable snow spikes but some times hard to use with gloves on but you do get plastic bits you can swap them with. took me a bit of time to get used to them going to put the bone back in the next time i use them. seem very water proof and have not leaked. i think there is a range of 3 colours. |

| Strengths |
very cofortable
sitffish boots with removable bone
very good control for turning carving etc |
|
| Weaknesses |
not advisable for freestyle use
a bit expensive but still £25 cheaper than the ion,s and i think they are just as good. |

Similar to the other review here, I started on Burton Motos around 4 years a go and thought they were as comfortable as my slippers! I could wear them all the time and would do if my SO had let me.
Anyway, I was not disappointed with the Driver. It's much stiffer than the Moto and takes a bit of getting used to, but once you're up and riding, the extra stiffness transfers all your movements in an instant.
The lace-up inner boot is much more secure than the Moto (no lace up inner) and this is basically what holds you a lot more...and if I could, I'd wear the inner on its own. It's well funky! |

| Strengths |
| comfy and versatile |
|
| Weaknesses |
| The spikes are probably a bit of a gimmick. I lost one on my first run at the Snozone as it got wedged into my Flow bindings. The spike was retracted anyway, but it must have got flipped down and stuck into the binding...never to be seen again. |

| I tried on the Solomon equivalent at TSA, MK but it was too uncomfortable for my feet. I did like the lacing lock system on the Solomon though. |
