Burton - Cartel 04/05 |
4.5 of 5 (8 reviews) |
|
| Description |
| Rule the freestyle underworld. The all-new Cartel™ is today’s standard in freestyle capability. For an insane snow feel, we removed some of the material from the baseplate but added Pressure Distribution Feet for improved weight displacement. This purifies the interface between board and body and reduces damage to your precious ride. The redesigned Team Skyback® is 13% lighter than last year and maintains the same amazing strength, response and stompability of the tallest hi-back in our line |

As above these bindings have the new capstrap and are v.light, everything is adjustable on them. Like the way you can rotate the high back to put it inline with your board, took a while to set it up, TSA as ususall were medeocure with there help, Joe at Subvert gave me the best setting up advice.
Like Exige I've only used Flows before , and these out preform them by about 600% !! |

I've been riding a pair of old Flow FL-39 Carbons since day X on my board, great whilst learning but they were never the most responsive of things unless you cranked the high back to ankle pain inducing levels. So I figured I'd go for straps, after testing several other products (old & new missions, Tomcats, Migs) I found the Cartels to be my preferred choice.
Firstly the strap system worked more fluidly over the Rides, but most noticable was the lack of stress on the front of my feet because of the capstrap. The cartels are also very light and so to be as responsive as they are was quite surprising.
As far as I was concerned for riding - I liked the Ride Tomcats just as much but chose the Burtons mainly for the comfort factor (and I couldn't get the Ltd Ed Rides!). I've only ridden the domes with these and so far I can only give them full marks. I'll re-review after a few weeks on the real stuff... |
