| LISTEN TO THIS IT'S IMPORTANT! I WANT TO WARN YOU! I first bought the 2002 C14 which I rode like crazy and where top notch. Changed to the 2003 and I'm very disappointed, Apparently the 2002 C14's high backs crack too easy, Mine did but that was outer coating so no big deal at all. The 2003's attempted to solve this with a thicker (heavier highback with metal teeth. My problem is that when you need highback rotation and ride with a lot of forward lean. They are to stiff to adjust! My first highbacks just broke at the place where the you screw em to the base plate! They got replaced, but second pair of highbacks (re-engineered to fix the problem) broke after 2 hours riding! This is to be expected from a 50 Euro binding, not the Burton flagship, They are right about the lousy adjustability, I want my 2002's back! If you ride em in a wider stance + plenty forward lean and don't rotate the highbacks the highbacks hurt your calves even with really stiff boots. Of course if you never ride at higher speeds or do jump that's not a problem, but that is where c14's are expected to perform, right? |

| Strengths |
The stiffest, lightest sh%t on the planet! Response at high speed is insane!!
Straps are so GOOOD makes you want to become a leather fetishist |
|
| Weaknesses |
Maximum highback rotation allways leads to the highback breaking sooner or later. heel side landings are a shock to the spine cause they are so stiff. TIP GO FOR MISSIONS or better still Mission DOOM for the leather kinky straps which rule.
A bit too stiff (never thought I would say that) |

| When you open the box of these bindings, the first thing you notice is the glorious smell of real leather! When bindings smell this good, you know you're on to a winner, especially as they're also made of very stiff carbon fibre, with machined aluminum buckles. All of this translates to a super stiff set-up. I have to admit I was a little nervous about first riding with these babies, after using the not very stiff Salomon S3's, but bolting them to my 168 Burton Canyon proved to be the best decision I've ever made. Talk about power and response. Any movement I made was instantly transferred to the board. The control I had filled me with confidence. I didn't need any forward lean due to the high backs being so stiff. The soft leather straps were super comfy and easy to do up and take off. I never wanted the slope to end... |
