Burning Bridges |

| Description |
| Burning Bridges is kidsKNOW's second feature, and the follow up to their smash hit, "loveHATE." Both projects were made with a several thousand dollar budgets. Burning Bridges looks less like a football game and more like a skate video. The people in the film are mostly casual, fun-loving humans. Some are tense, whilst others are stoned (like any group of people, really). When they all came together, it led to a lot of highs, and all of the lows. A lot of road has been traveled between this year's movie and the last, and a lot of women waved along the way. A new addition to the kidsKNOW team is a man named Daniel, who goes back and uses virtual reality cameras to improve every riders footage. Thus enhancing everyone's good time. We also guarantee the best soundtrack in a snowboarding film -- ever. Burning Bridges will not let you down. It will be the last video you still watch in March of 2006, when you're sick of all the other videos you liked more than "Burning Bridges" when you originally bought them back in September of 2005. |

| Um, it was pretty typical. Guys shredding, lots of rails, long Mikey LeBlanc part (2 songs) and some other cool folks. Travis Parker making funny noises, yelling at MFM, JF Pelchat running through the woods in an orange jumpsuit, lots of good stuff. I didn't think it was amazing, or really even close to Robotfood's stuff or even MTN.LAB from DC, but it was still pretty good. Some of my friends adore this movie. |

Burning Bridges is an interesting little movie, it certainly has numerous good parts but there's also a few questionable aspects to it as well. Firstly, the soundtrack is a bit dodgy, one of the few releases I've watched and not felt the need to get hold of any of the tracks. Don't let that put you off though, that's only my taste of course, there's plenty of people out there who'll like the music included. The second indifferent part of Burning Bridges, for me, is the attitude/personality of the riders themselves, there's a lot of angry men in there and while seeing them ride makes my feet itch for some snow, I'd probably pass up on the opportunity to actually go riding with any of them.
But lets move on to more positive things, because this is still a very good snowboarding film, the points I've raised above certainly wouldn't make me go running back to the shop receipt in hand demanding a refund. The production is solid and filming of very high standard, the editing has a slightly different feel to other movies I've seen and this is always a good thing, who wants every release to look like a clone? The stand out part is easily MFMs, his riding is a cut above the rest in my opinion, so smooth and technical, a joy to watch basically. The whole movie is very rail and jump heavy, those of you who don't enjoy this will want to avoid because there's minimal big mountain lines. However if you're like me this won't be a problem to you.
So, definitely worth getting I think, if only because it's a bit different to the type of things Standard Films and Absinthe produce. In the promotional blurb Mikey LeBlanc claimed this will be the last movie you're watching at the end of the season once everything else has been consigned to history, I wouldn't say this will be the last I watch this season, but it will still be going strong by the time all the snow is starting to melt. |
