| Thought i'd give this slope a try as live in the middle of nowhere!! However, got to top of the 'slope' got ready to go down and almost immediately caught my edge on a bit of wire sticking out followed by dendrex lifting up from the slope - nice............ was the same all the way down the slope, and then had to avoid a group of bladers meandering without looking - gr8t!! |

Nice centre relatively close to Bath and Bristol. The staff are friendly and helpful.
UPDATE: 21/12/2004
Dendex slope but the layout is a little bit more varied from the usual straight line.
Poor maintenance has been an issue in the past with metal dendex ties (?) sticking up, however I visited Avon on Sunday 19/12/2004 and this was no longer a problem. There were section where the dendex was wearing thin but that none of us caught an edge.
Also it was good to see the price hasn't increased.

| Strengths |
Varied layout with moguls, quarter pipe, and ramps.
Slope layout is a 'hammerhead' which breaks up the slope a bit, and also includes a very small side run through trees.
Sell beer.

| Weaknesses |
Dendex.
Food is shocking.
Tree lined so in autumn/winter months covered in wet leaves.
Dendex isn't maintained as well as it could be. |

| Basically came here to learn when I lived in Bristol because it was cheaper and not as far as MK or Tam. The staff are friendly enough, despite the fact a lot of them are crossover sk*ers but I would have preferred the same instructor every time I went. As far as the slope's concerned it's in a nice woodland setting with a varied layout - it's not just straight down. Having seen phots of other slopes though it's not as long or interesting as it could be. |

| Strengths |
| Nice setting, friendly staff, friendly atmosphere |
|
| Weaknesses |
| Dendex (once I went to MK I've never been back), wires poking through the slope in some places, grommets on bloody snowblade things |

| Good interesting slope |
|
| Strengths |
Quite long - 165 metres
Varied - Has bends, moguls, ramps, quarter-pipe
Not too busy
Cheap - £10 (£15 non-members) for four hours Weds & Sun nights
Freindly people! |
|
| Weaknesses |
Dendex. Well it would be wouldn't it so I can't really call it a weakness!?! The Dendex is a bit barren in places including the surface under the lift but generally with a bit of care the sound of bare metal can be avoided!
There's quite a strong smell of horse poo! It's next to a riding centre |
