Review Detail
There's a comprehensive tutorial section for you to get upto speed with this game but if you're an Amped veteran, then you could just jump straight in and ride one of the two runs on offer at the start.

In career mode, the main part of this game, you earn points, skills and items by completeting the various challenges on each run that the game throw at ya, from Tricks, Media to Sponsors Points. Once you have the required points, you'll be able to unlock more mountains to ride on, with tougher challenges to master.

If you just want a quick blast then you can of course pick a real-life Pro rider and take them down a run if that takes your fancy.

This sequel looks better than the first game and plays faster and smoother, but still managing to keep the realism from Amped. The snow looks top-notch with a wide variety of terrain to ride on and there's loads of obstacles like jumps, rails, moguls and trees to ride.

Sound wise, it's pretty good too, with sounds that you'd find on the mountain. You'll also hear fellow boarders giving you shouts as you ride past them, or them riding past me as was the case. The tunes are...erm, cool (sorry, couldn't resist).

I know alot of you will want to know if Amped 2 is better or worse than SSX 3, so here goes; they're both snowboarding games, they both look and sound amazing, easy to start but hard to master and will keep you happy until you ride the real thing. But they're both different games, one's a brash-in-ya-face-arcade game and the other is chillout-realistic-sim game.

So it's down to personal choice really, just don't ask me which one I prefer...
Strengths
Realism!
Weaknesses
One problem that I found was the awkward camera angle behind your rider, can't quite see what's directly in front to judge distances.
