| I'm heading to Argentina and Chile in 2 weeks time. Flying into Buenos Aires and out of Santiago a month later, which is flexible so if I like it I can stay a bit longer. Will definitley hit up the 3 valleys in July. Have you had much snow yet? |

How much is the language course? my spanish grammar is not so good and I would like to get closer to fluency.
hope you have a good time |

Yeah that trip was cunningly timed between finishing my job and starting my second degree! This one is right after I finish my degree, so I have the time although not all that much money - wouldn't be going if my flight wasn't getting paid for by my mum cos of the family trip to Peru!
I didn't snowboard for 10 weeks though, I think I did about 9 days of boarding (although most of them were half-days), the rest was travelling about.
You sound like you get far more boarding in than me, don't worry, there's been a few years I've not been at all, a couple where I've been for longer than a week but it works out as 12 weeks in total in 13 years. |

No worries, I've spent the last few weeks attempting to figure out how to do my trip, so it's all in my head already!
Personally I wouldn't bother going there for a week or two, the flights are very long and very expensive (unlikely to be less than £700 and probably quite a bit more, especially if flying on a weekend). My cousin went to Las Lenas for two weeks and had a great time though. And I'd hugely recommend Argentina and Chile as a place to travel if you have a little more time, I loved it and can't wait to go back, but I think you want at minimum a month and ideally a fair bit more, I went for 10 weeks last time and wasn't ready to go home! I wouldn't be going for such a short trip this time, but I'm going with my family to visit my sister in Peru so I figured I may as well head south after since I'm there already. |

Depends on your airline/route (no direct flights from the UK). Starts at around 17 hours London - Madrid - Santiago if you get a short connection in Madrid (Iberia, Air Comet, LAN Chile), slightly longer via Paris (Air France), Amsterdam (KLM) or Frankfurt (Lufthansa). Upwards of 20 from London if you go via North America (Toronto with Air Canada, usually Dallas or Miami with AA or United). BA and TAM fly direct from London to Sao Paolo but it doesn't tend to be much faster.
Although if you're in Scotland you can probably add a few more hours onto that as you're likely to have to change planes twice.
You may also, depending on which resort/s you're heading to, have a fairly lengthy transfer there from Santiago. Don't actually know where Santiago airport is, but El Colorado, La Parva, Fallerones and Valle Nevado are around an hour from Central Santiago, Portillo 2 hours, Pucon and Chillan a lot further (I think Pucon is about 15 hours but I took many buses and they tend to blur into one!). Las Lenas in Argentina would be about the same, changing buses in Mendoza, and Cerro Catedral is around 22 hours I think.
Sorry, can you tell I am currently trying to plan my slightly ridiculous trek around South America? |

Hope that means a good season at Cerro Catedral as well as I should be there in July
I'd like to go to El Colorado again, and check out the other resorts round there, but I don't think I can make it fit into my plans (Money, time, lack of people to ride with - planning on doing a Spanish course in Bariloche so hoping to meet people through that). |

Be with you in spirit bro. Unfortunately I have to endure one of those horrible sun by the pool holidays as a trade off for taking the family to Canada last week ! I hate it so much I have to drink lots of alcohol to blot it out LOL Must put a pound on the lottery tomorrow, you gotta be in it to win it ! |

Yeah its really early for getting too excited but its nice to know that the weather is cold enough now for some recordable snowfall at the resorts of El Colorado, La Parva, and Valle Nevado
