Sure Half Life, the original one, I'm playing it at the moment and it's quite good although not as good as shooting Germans!!(am i allowed to say that)?

Also comes with "counterstrike" that you can play online but i hav'nt tried this one.

Ok mate you might have to stick to some of the older games, but you should still be able to find quite a few.
This was the one i was talking about and should play on your system Medalof honour Allied Assault
It is good and plays well on my old thing!!

Not sure how they charge for internet access on the trains, but from what I can make out at McDonalds, your changed by the minute I think?

EDIT:

Just found the prices for McDonalds

Subscriptions start at just £10 a month for 120 minutes. Occasional users can use the new pay-as-you-go option at 20pence per minute or the one-hour pass for £6.

Check here for BT OpenZone hotspots

i don't know much about this stuff but a friend using wireless on the train found that when he got disconnected because of loss of signal in a tunnel he was charged again to reconnect . don't know for sure if thats true buti it sounds it. may be something to watch out for if you do get disconnected. could work out a lot more expensive than you think

Hi Stuart,

right I'm by no means the best person to talk to on wireless connections, but I'll do my best...

Basically you need a wireless access point for the house, which plugs into you cable modem- this will give you wireless access around the house & on the patio (I think you can get some that just plug in & away you go, so no configuration required) It is best to secure your access point though, so that other people can't use your internet connection (Like I was doing when I went to Glens and around town here

For internet access around the world, that's going to be an issue- There are area's that are Access Points, but you have to pay for this usually (McDonalds is an example of this) You can also get wireless access on trains too now

For a guaranteedinternet access from anywhere- you may be best to purchase a GPRS GSM Wireless LAN PCMCIA Card but then you start to getting problems with phone bills & connection speeds. With GPRS you pay for the amount of data you send rather than the time you are online. I don't know a lot about these to be honest, we have some at work, but I don't use them.

Has that explained things any better for you?

you have stole my thread! Mod yourself Stuart!!

I'm def no expert on this but was asking this myself to Timay the other day as he's a bit of a computer whizz!

Now, he tells me alot of things but its always hard to follow when it comes to computers, i can sometimes hear him over MSN ripping his hair out!

So, from what i gather you need a wireless router like from here sure you can get them a little cheaper tho. the rest i'm not sure of.

but the access anywhere do believe Timay said something about only where there are internet hotspots like hotels etc. which is normally at a cost too. its like he said i couldn't sit in a car going down the M1 on the net.

Anyways, i'm no expert. :p
