hehe, thought someone might ask that!
We'd didn't find it too bad...beer jacket on and all that. Probably took 5 or 10 mins longer.
Snow canons were on one night which was pretty funny...turned a corner and waded into a blizzard and knee deep snow for a minute or two |

| Les Arcs gets my vote too. 1800 has best selection of bars, easy access to both 2000 and the Vallandry trees runs. Bar Mont Blanc in Vallandry is worth a look (and the 1/2 hour trek down through the trees from 1800 isn't as bad as it sounds!!) |

If your thinking about Les arcs, I'd say defo go for 1800 it has all the best bars and other places can be a bit quiet in the evenings. Red Hot Saloon is always fun.  |

| les arcs is for sure the best place to board in france. Its really beautiful too and a great place to go with your family |

Les arcs, gets my vote (every time).
Its high and has loads of easy accessible off piste.
Tell them to get some lessons here at a dome or dry slope or expect to be left of there own.

| 3 valleys gets my recomendation - if its a mix your looking for for all abilities I would suggest courchevel 1650 loads of quiet wide cruisy blues and greens plus its easily linked in to a massive area thats got everything although the nearest decent park is the moon park in meribel which is a bit of a trek from 1650 |

Must admit, went to Chamonix for last New Year and it was brilliant!!
I hear what your saying about beginners though, not the best place for beginners.
Les Arcs would be my suggestion, we did it betwen Christmas and New Year 2 years ago and it was awesome, loads of terrain for everyone to play on. Avoriaz is another good option. |

I love Cham but I don't think it's the best place to go around Xmas, and there are better options for beginners. |

Before Christmas is cheap but you need to go somewhere high to guarantee snow, like Val Thorens or Tignes. Christmas and New Year weeks are expensive if you book everything separately and very expensive if you go with a package operator. The fortnight after New Year is a good time to go cos it's cheap, most resorts are empty, and there will have been another few weeks of winter for it to have snowed.
What type of bars are you after? Cool places to have a drink after dinner, or piste-side party bars where people get hammered, dance on the tables and get naked? |

yer sorry should have put these things didnt really thing were thinking of just going for a week, were looking for a resort that A has gd snowboarding for both beginers and itermidiate levels with enough snow for a gd time and B has a gd range of bars not really worryed about clubs dont really like them but yer if u know of somewhere in france let me know

Are u heading out to do a season or is it just for a holiday?
What are you wanting to get out of the trip? Is it all about the riding or are you wanting good night life? How long is a piece of string?
There are so many different place... I like Meribel, mainly cos I get free room and beer! But there is also a massive ski area with the 3 Valleys.
Les Arc, Morzine and L2A always gets a lot of visiters. |

alright guys im now thinking of heading to france next season well around xmas really with a couple of mates and just wondering is this a gd time to go and what resort should i go too me and one of my mates can snowboard fairly well but the other too havent been so i need some help here
