RE: Debit Card claims

Not sure if this has been brought up already but...

Article in today's Observer claiming that any payments made on a debit card can be reclaimed thru facility called Visa Chargeback.. Need to contact card issuer who should then contact the holiday co's payment processing bank to claim the money..

Time limit of 120 days from liquidation date so 55 days left to claim, people!!..

Article here:

The important bit,

For example, if the goods are not delivered or are faulty, you can claim your money back from either the lender or the supplier. This could be useful if, say, the supplier goes bust

That's why I said how can they make an offer. When they know by law they are responsible to pay the full amount.

That's the reason why anything over £100 should be paid for by creditcard.

Dani,

That's pants. I'm sure the card company is liable for unfulfilled services, regardless of liquidators.
You may have seen this and I haven't read back in the thread but have you read this page on the FSA site ?

HSBC is so annoying! i am still waiting for my money back - are you all sorted now Stuart?
with barclays it was 1 phone call and 1 letter and 2 weeks later my money was back into my account!
With HSBC, i've had to call 3 times (which is expensive during peak time on my mobile at work) and 3 letter!!!! getting seriously miffed!! grrrrr

Best of luck with that Dani, give them hell and tell them that everybody else you know who has a card with other banks/cc comps has had the money refunded and that you want it sorted soon or you will seek legal representation.
Push them and see how they react.
They are all a shower of Bastards and should be ashamed.
The only good thing that happened last night was that the Zoom boss John Boyle, the Motherwell FC chairman saw his team whipped in the UEFA cup by AS Nancy of France. I would love that club to go into administration and him to end up locked away.
Got to watch what I say on here but he would deserve it.

Thankies Smeg' - I will def' look into that further as this is becoming ridiculous! Super useful info

Stu': It's a pain in the ass, because we live up on the mountain and have no phone we can only use Skype and to further the pain our internet connection is pretty poor given that we're satelite driven. So we find constantly that HSBC use the excuse they cannot hear us or we're breaking up! This happened a few times so we rang family back in the UK straight after to check the call quality and guess what ... no problem albeit a slight 2 sec delay.

I am off into town this morning to use a 'proper' phone and give them cheeky 'bleeps' a piece of my mind!

Cheers for all your input guys, it is much appreicated!!
