 ..I've just read the last 40+ posts and I cant believe the mods didn't jump on this. Never mind the sh*te reviews...they cant cant hold a candle to this thread...hold on!..I think I can actually smell it, has Gb gone Scratch 'n Sniff?
Was it a weak review...yes.
Was it necessary to draw everyones attention to it...NO!
Will JJW be put off...lets hope not. |

Can we all just agree to chill out a bit please? Yes its annoying when people do poor reviews (which is why I'd never review any boards cos I don't know enough about them) but is it THAT annoying?
PS In JJW's defence, he did say "Nothing to do with the board" before his comment about compromising.
Question, is everyone just getting ratty cos they know its a few months before they get back on real snow (Q and his South America trip excepted  )?

Timay, did you not have a go at the new member WhacksWax cause he posted an almost same thread in "gear for sale" could you not have PM'd him like you said? But he wasn't a new member- he had made a few posts, and he was online to give his side, wasn't he?
As for someone else would have commented on the review- it had been up for quite a while before you commented on it & I had already read it for one, so I'm sure quite a few others had. Maybe they were just being nice as he was a new member & not wantine to be rude and scare new members off.
We want to be seen as a friendly forum that welcomes new members, not just slates them on the first thing they do on here. |

Boardgirl, What i was trying to get across was that you should be a little sensitive towards others. was you being "sensitive towards others" when you talked of other peoples pics not being that good? also to Q when you said hope he goes the same way as Kingston?
Ummm if i was being an insenstiive bitch about peoples pics i would have named names, which i didn't. I didn't say 'oh so and so why did you bother???' I simply made an overall comment about pics which was what this thread was about (ok, not pics, but reviews, but same thing)
and drew do you even know who kingston is/was? I believe he was before your time.
Plus, Q's a big boy, he can take a bit of abusing from me because its all in good nature. He annoys me and i annoy him  But he's not a new member so there is no worry (unfortunately  ) of him not coming back
If we all start posting comments against new people, or even against each other we'll just become another one of those sites that noone likes to join because its not friendly. |

Yeah yeah, i get it! bad nasty Drew blah blah! Drew's an a*se. 
At the end of the day i saw a bit of a crap review and saw this thread and put them both together. (as others have done) if i'm wrong in doing so then fine, i'm in the wrong! but i still do not see what all the fuss is about. This is a website,(not a room full of your best mates) people post up all kinds of things. some people agree, some don't. we slate peoples, reviews, pics, posts, snowboards. why don't you jump on there backs too?

jonny, as you have been reading this thread from the start, where were you when sinbad said about a review and said why did this guy even bother?
also, At the end of the day, I could write a review about a board/boots/bindings and make it sound great, mention flex, edge-2-edge, powder handling, boot off kickers etc, but if I don't know what I'm talking about, that review is absolutely useless to everyone... well yeah!
I also might like to add that if i didn't post it someone else would of. they would of read the review, seen this thread and then wham! same kinda post as mine. |

I've been reading this (very) long running thread for a very long time... surely any review is completely down to personal opinion and therefore shouldn't be criticised by others?
Ok, so this latest review you're talking about might seem pointless to you, but it doesn't seem pointless to the person who wrote it, as I'm guessing they don't work for the company who's product they reviewed and they won't gain anything from people reading the review?!... I'm sure, as already stated, that the person who wrote that review won't be coming back as that was a less than friendly welcome (although I accept your point that everyone has a freedom of speech, it's just that you could've used it differently).
At the end of the day, I could write a review about a board/boots/bindings and make it sound great, mention flex, edge-2-edge, powder handling, boot off kickers etc, but if I don't know what I'm talking about, that review is absolutely useless to everyone...

I think you just got rid of one new user of this site because of your point drew. whys that then? becuase he joined one day and didn't vist the next? ok. most only post once anyway.
What happened to freedom of speech etc? if people can't handle what others have to say then why's that my fault? |
