I did my level 1+2 on the 21st July at MK xscape...... had my decathlon board trousers on and a waterproof (ish?) airwalk ski jacket.
now i am well chuffed to have only fell over a grand tottal of 3 times during the whole 3 hours (yay go me) but after the session my clothes were wet, as was my a*se
just un strapping and carying the board each time to ride back up the baby lift meant holding it close to you and getting snow on you, so you have alot more contact with the white stuff than just falling on it
, and dont mention the gloves
soaked through (god im sounding like a woman
)
so i think tracksuit bottoms or anything other than proper ski/board gear would be a no no
p.s it was SO much colder than i thought it would be....i guess me walking in wearing baggy combat shorts and flip flops, then 5 mins later through a door to -3 degrees didnt help the suprise
certainly is a wierd feeling...and to answer a previous question "yes" i did sweat..like a P.I.G.

I wear shell snowboarding trousers when I'm in a fridge with the vents open. Once you start riding the physical exertion will generate more than enough heat to keep you warm.
You will end up sweating, but you won't be 'too' warm. A shell top should be about right.
Crash pants are useful if you're going to be falling on your a*se a lot as the snow is pretty hard packed. If memory serves, the TSA at MK's pretty big so you should be able to pick up any bits and bobs you need before you go riding.

found it !!..jumped over from the other thread
i have a pair of waterproof boarding trousers that i got ages ago
(only £16 in Decathlon)
obviously not the greatest but must be better than (or at least as good as
) tracky bottoms..
would i need anyhting under them? and a thinish over the head waterproof (ish) hooded jacket.
cant help but think im gonna be too hot even in that?
how important are "crash pants"? ..... wonder if i could get a pair at MK before the lessons??

They'll be wearing snowboard boots not trainers.
Good point though, your trousers will need to stretch at the bottom to be able to fit over the boots.

Make sure the trews are big enough at the bottom to fit over the boots else you will have cold ankles

What they said. If your waterproof trousers are pretty thing then you could wear tracky bottoms on underneath them as they'll keep u warm, and supply extra padding!

If possible waterproof trousers and a waterproof top, as early doors you will be falling over a lot. Don't wear too many layers though as you will be very active and will get hot. Gloves are also a must.

What to wear - Tamworth Snowdome - first lesson
20/09/2007 @ 18:38:45
Hi,
I'll be off to Tamworth in a couple of weeks for a combi 1+2 lesson. The lady on the phone when booking said to wear baggy tracksuit bottoms?! Isn't this daft? I'll get a soggy a*se! Could I get away with wearing some waterproof trousers like what I wear when cycling?
Cheers for your advice in advance!
