when and where are you going in NZ?

I'm trying to decide between QT or Wanaka as a base hopefully both! So hard to decide on a resort when you've not been before! Need to decide soon as some of the early deals are starting to finish.

A Vapor with Flows Now that's something you're not going to see every day!

Spend as much as you can on the best fitting boots you can, though choice will be very limited now. As for a board, spend about £250-300 in the sales and you'll be fine and max £150 on bindings. Then you'll have more money for pish kiwi beer

youre a freerider but can only happily get down blues

anyhoo, id suggest staying away from flows 2 people on my instructor course had them and one broke and the other tore the sole of the boot away from the rest of it. both are now riding burton triads as am i. ive never like burton but these bindings are amazingly nice.

also salomon boots are the way to go, especially the f series if you got big feet. and im going to try for an evil twin next year if i can. just worried about getting base grinds

Open ended question this one, so here's my opinion....
have a look at Ride Conept TMS, super board loads of pop fast and very controllable in all conditions hard pack powder ice you name it she will handle it all Match it wth ride bindings and you are set, if you want stiff bindings go for the SPI's if not then delta's are pretty good. They have some great deals on at the moment meaning you can grab the board for around £280ish and bindings for less than £100. I'm a intermediate rider and this board has done wonders for me, hope this confuses you some more
If it's not broke BREAK IT!!

A season in NZ would be awesome! my mate's going over there as soon as he come's back from whistler (the lucky bastard). DO NOT GET A VAPOUR OR T6 if you want to hit the park. that's not what they're for. They have a alluminium core so they would probably snap if you hit a rail hard. I test rode the Forum Grudge this season and it was so awesome. Really light but packed fulla pop. I stomped most of the mountain with it..even a little powder and it killed everything. Its a fairly dear board (£429) but if your going for a season then I spose it's worth it. if I had my choice, I would have two boards if I was going away for a season. i would take a Forum Destroyer for park and hitting the piste. Then for those powder days, I rekon you would have trouble beating the Burton Malolo on pow.

Supposed to be more comfortable and easier to snap into (in non powder), other than that no idea, never really fanced them.

There are some good setups out there now that's for sure, with the Cinch Technology from K2, Solomon has the Relay, Burton the P1's and CO2's, Rome and Ride have some nice ones too.

Had a feeling the vapor might kill me if I stepped on it!

Anyone got any comments on Flow bindings? been tempted over the last couple of years, for ease more than anything but do they effect your ride much?

Seriously mate, if you have the money, don't by the vapour at your level, or the T6, expensive and a seriously evil board from what i've heard. One of the guys in a board shop in Banff found it too much for him and he's been boarding since yay hi.

I would try something like an Anthem maybe, which is a good all round board.

There are others on here who are more freeride/park who can advise you better.

Flows are good, but the Cinch bindings are quite nice as well and offer both capabilities.

I would personally get a board with a history to it and bindings and boots with the same background that have evolved and people on this site have experience with rather than some new stuff.

Hey guys,

Wanted your advice, Im an intermediate rider, Ive been boarding to 4 years (only 10 days a year). I can happily get down blues and Im looking to do a season out in New Zealand this year...

My board is getting a bit old now and was cheap back when I got it and im looking to get a completely new rig...

My question is what would you recommend? in terms of boards boots and bindings? im mainly a freerider but Im looking to hit the park a bit...

I want to get a setup I can grow into but wont send be crashing out all over the shot! Ive been looking at the vapor (expect that will kill me mind you!) and as far as boots and bindings go Im not to clued up...I want to get some flow bindings just for ease more than anything...budget isnt that much of an issue but I want the gear to last...

Any suggestions would be great!
