Can't really answer your question Andy, as I've not looked at camcorders since getting mine years ago.

I use a Canon MV750i that I've used for years. It's a mini dv camcorder and it does have image capture but it's not the best as resolutions have improved over the years. It's served me well and has made many a snowboard movie.

i really need some advice form you guy's in the know

HELP.......i want an entry level camera........Mini DV seems the way i need to go (as mentioned before).......
i suppose if i explain why then it might help you guy in understanding what im after...
i teach martial arts for a living and have around 400 students......they are all screaming out for footage of techniques etc......on film/DVD......to work on out of the Dojo (training hall)...so its a bitlike footage of boarding in a way.....it needs to give a good clear image...be able to pic up movement pretty well......and i need to be able to edit it easily and put it onto disc without too much hassel...... they will be sold...(as are all martial arts instructionals) so the image quality need to justify the price it's sold for!!.........i can only seem to find the Sony Handycam DCR-HC62 that seems to fit the bill as i can also take stills.... the Sony HCR-HC9.... is a High Def version that still uses Tapes.and has many cool function like built in slow motion image capture...(that would be great for slowing down Kata technique to make it easy to learn from.....

so im really frustrated as to what to go for? one is £200 the other is £800??

any tips and opinions on the best route to take would be really aprieciated

many thanks

Andy
