It's going to be a good while before you are attaining the sort of speeds that anything other than a jibtastic noodle is going to feel unstable at.

You may be over thinking things... but hey, it's fun eh?

i've never managed to get that fast yet

only time it felt unstable or a bit chattery at speed was when i'd sharpened the edges but hadn't blunted the contact points

is guess so, although im sure that i read the clash is a 3??
so 5 is middle for diddle, thats sound ok...there are just so many board out there and i had neve thougfht of getting a freestyle board as my first board?

just how fast would you need to go to start to noticve is getting a little "Unstable"?

Azzie: yes i would agree that "pretty" should be the top of any lady snowboarders list if it aint pretty then it aint getting ridden

K: yeah the special edeition so i was told is for the Atomic Team themselves, the pro team that is, and they all ride that board? so it cant be half bad can it?

then again
Grill has gone into hiding most days and talking to me in 3 word riddles at the moment (sorry grill) it must be the jet lag?? so im not sure what's happening wiht the Hatchet now??

ill wait and see what happens

5 out of ten is quite soft though....no board is a 1, it would fall apart in your hands and look like a dali clock! Even the www which is supposed to be the softest board in exsistence is a 4.

QUOTE (kincaidston - 05/08/2008 @ 13:37:21)

at the size of board you are looking at, your background in martial arts (guessing fairly decent leg muscles), and your weight then i believe that you shouldn't be getting too hung up on it

also combine that with the full moon and wearing yellow pants while chanting the shinto call to prayer we should be fine!!

cheers K

Andy.

Level 5....I would have said then it was middle of the road, soft....but stiff enough that you wont outgrow it too quickly so to speak.

yeah that's another thing?
if stiffness is the enemy of the beginner would that not be a problem that the Hatchet is level 5?
(1= very soft, 10= very stiff) and as a freestyle board too?
you can surely understand that all this can be very contradictory and confusing to a noobie

as snowangel said you'll get an opinion on boots that makes no sense to somebody else, i just took it to the extreme

can't remember to be honest, i remember it being stiffer than the hire boards, taking it easy at first but i don't really remember anything out of the ordinary when i first started using it...

and with bindiing if you are willing to use previous seasons stock then you can often pick up a bargain like these or these and can live with leopard skin print

cheers erazor, i can see where you are coming from.

K:- size 8? thats a size and a half down from my shoe size glad im not buying condoms off you

i've got a much better idea of the set up im after now you guy's have explained things to me.

how did you find the (supposedly) extra speed of the Hatchet as a beginner K? and was it a lot less stable at speed?

what about raiden bindings? must admit i like the look of the union's too though, but it will probably end up being Ride XL or the Arsenals i would guess

the board will be put aside until i am happy to ride it, and ill stick with the rossignal hire board for now, but its nice to buy stuff aint it

cheers Buds
