Thursday 3 July 2008

The Molltal glacier in Austria has now reopened following poor weather earlier in the week.

Glacier skiing has been temporarily suspended at Val d’Isere and Tignes on Thursday due to poor weather conditions.

Sass Fee in Switzerland is scheduled to open for the summer ski season on Saturday 5th July.

In Italy Cervinia is planning to open for the summer ski season on Friday 4th July.

Wet and warm weather is forecast for the weekend at the Blackcomb glacier in Canada.

Excellent summer skiing conditions continue on the Palmer snowfield at Timberline in America.

In Australia Falls Creek and Mount Hotham are now open for the season following fresh snow and the efforts of the snow making team.

Further snowfalls this week have enhanced the already great riding conditions in New Zealand.

Almost all of our reported Chilean resorts are now open for snowsports and the skiing conditions are excellent. Chapa Verde is unfortunately not yet open for skiing.

Chapelco in Argentina has now opened for the season and snow is expected at all three of the resorts we report on this weekend.

Austria
It is going to be another wet and cloudy weekend across Austria. Slightly better weather is forecast for Friday and Saturday when sunny spells are expected.

The Molltal glacier (210cm) has now reopened for snowsports and 9km of pistes are open from 8.30am-4pm.

Wet and heavy conditions can be found underfoot at the majority of resorts including the Dachstein glacier (640cm), Hintertux (205cm) and the Stubai glacier (120cm). It is best to ski early when the pistes are slightly firmer.

France
Windy and stormy weather on Thursday has forced the Espace Killy resorts to temporarily close for snowsports. The conditions are forecast to improve on Friday so both areas, Tignes (150cm) and Val d’Isere (100cm), should be able to open again before the weekend.

The wind is quite strong on Thursday at Les Deux Alpes (320cm) too and the number of open lifts has reduced to seven. There is one green run, three blue runs and one red run open. The wind is forecast to ease on Friday and the sun should return. Further clouds are expected for a period on Sunday which could deliver some rain.

Switzerland
Poor weather on Thursday at Zermatt (170cm) has forced the ski area to temporarily close. Conditions are expected to improve on Friday so skiing should again be possible for visitors this weekend.

Saas Fee (249cm) is scheduled to open for the summer ski season on 5th July, and the snow base on the glacier is over two metres deep so conditions look really promising.

Italy
At Val Senales (50cm) the Grawand, Finail and Gletschersee pistes are open and have good snow cover. The sunny weather on Thursday is only interrupted by light cloud cover, so the visibility is great. Similar weather is expected all weekend.

At Passo Tonale heavy cloud cover has drastically reduced the visibility on the Presena glacier (150cm), so it is not possible to ski on Thursday. The weather is forecast to improve on Friday, so it will hopefully be possible to ski before the weekend.

Cervinia is scheduled to open for the summer ski season on Friday 4th July 2008. The weather on Thursday is expected to be wet in the afternoon then the sun should come out on Friday, perfectly timed for the start of the summer ski season.

North America
The bright sunny weather of this week is forecast to disappear from Thursday at the Blackcomb glacier (65cm) at Whistler, Canada. It is expected to be wet and warm across the weekend so the snow will become heavy towards the end of the day.

The Palmer snowfield at Timberline (251cm) offers excellent summer riding conditions. The Magic Mile and Palmer lifts are open from 7am until 1.30pm. There is a chance of some stormy weather as we head into the weekend.

Australia
It has been a good week for the Australian ski season with resorts reopening and others kicking off their winter season.

Falls Creek (36/38cm) is now open for the winter with good cover of packed man made snow in all areas. All of the open area has been groomed and the ski patrol is recommending Boardwalks, Towers and home trails as the areas to head for.

Mount Hotham (29/35cm) has also started its winter season. There are three trails open, Big D, Summit, and Road Runner which have a fair covering of natural and man made snow.

Mount Buller (17/28cm) and Selwyn Snowfields (10/10cm) have both reopened following new natural snow and the work of the snow machines. Mount Buller has had the snow cannons operating all night long and it is recommended that skiers head to Bourke Street. At Selwyn Snowfields all of the open area has been groomed and the Township T-bar will open for the first time this season on Thursday.

Conditions at Thredbo (0/9cm) and Perisher Blue (9/9cm) are improving and it is now possible to ski from top to bottom at Thredbo on Supertrail.

Ben Lomond and Mount Baw Baw are yet to open for their winter 2008 seasons due to a lack of snow.

New Zealand
Further snowfalls hit some of the New Zealand resort on Wednesday night and more snow could fall over the weekend.

Up to 15cm of fresh snow fell on Wednesday night at Cardrona (35/55cm) providing excellent riding conditions as we head towards the weekend. It is recommended that you stick to the main runs as there are some unmarked hazards if you head off-piste.

15cm of fresh snow also fell at Mount Hutt (95cm) on Wednesday night. Unfortunately the Village Champs Race that was due to take place on Thursday has to be rescheduled.

8cm of new snow fell on Thursday morning at The Remarkables (35/52cm) providing fresh cover in time for the lifts opening. The snow conditions mean that off-piste riding is limited but expert skiers could try Fall line, Cross fall or Lower Water Race trails as the snow cover on them is great.

Mt Lyford and Porter Heights are unfortunately closed for snowsports on Thursday due to strong winds, but the weather is forecast to calm down a little in time for the weekend.

Treble Cone (25/55cm) is planning to open Home Basin on Friday 4th July following this week’s snowfalls.

Rainbow (55cm) is expected to open for the winter season on 5th July 2008. The fresh snow that fell through Wednesday night has added a welcome cover to the snow base, and further snowfalls are forecast on Thursday.

Mount Dobson (20/40cm) is scheduled to open for the winter season on 6th July 2008. The snow that has fallen this week has improved the conditions and further snowfalls are expected over the weekend.

At Turoa (174cm) on the North Island the Alpine Meadow beginner's area is open but all other areas are closed due to strong winds. The winds are forecast to ease by Saturday and further snowfalls are forecast throughout the weekend.

The Happy Valley beginner's area is open at Whakapapa (110cm) but all other parts of the ski area are closed due to poor weather. Further snowfalls are forecast from Thursday afternoon right through the weekend.

Chile
The Three Valleys resorts offer excellent on-piste carving conditions due to the packed snow cover and beautiful sunny weather. The clear skies are forecast to last throughout the weekend. La Parva (185/300cm) reports the deepest snow base of the Three Valleys resorts, followed by El Colorado (130/150cm) then Valle Nevado (70cm).

Portillo (153/173cm) offers excellent riding with over a metre and a half of packed snow across the slopes. The situation is further enhanced by the clear sunny weather that is forecast to last all weekend.

Termas de Chillan (10/80cm) has updated the snow base depths. This means that the depth on the upper pistes is more than enough to have a great time carving about. On the lowest slopes more natural snow would be welcome, and this could fall over the weekend.

Chapa Verde is not yet open for their winter season.

Argentina
Chapelco (0/10cm) has now open for snowsports. The resort has three lifts and five pistes open for general use. Conditions are described as hard packed but improvements should be seen over the weekend as snow is forecast to fall from Thursday.

Snow is also forecast from Thursday for Cerro Catedral (0/30cm) which has increased its number of operating lifts to fourteen. The pistes are hard packed so a dusting of snow would not go amiss.

Las Lenas (185/371cm) will not receive the huge dump of snow that was forecast on Friday and now 5cm is expected on Saturday. The recent high winds have caused the pistes to pack down so the new snow will be gratefully received.

Monday 30 June 2008

The Molltal glacier in Austria is temporarily closed on Monday due to poor weather.

The Pissaillas glacier at Val d’Isere in France opened for their summer season this weekend.

More changeable weather is expected at Zermatt in Switzerland this week, and this could unfortunately bring some rain to the area.

Changeable weather is forecast at Val Senales and Presena in Italy although the snow bases are holding up well.

It is going to be bright and sunny this week at the Blackcomb glacier at Whistler, Canada.

Excellent summer skiing conditions continue at Timberline in America thanks to the deep snow base and fine, sunny weather.

A cold front is sweeping across the Australian ski resorts and snow is expected to fall on a daily basis.

Further snowfalls over the weekend in New Zealand have vastly improved conditions at many resorts.

Almost all of our reported Chilean resorts are now open for snowsports and the skiing conditions are excellent. The exception is Termas de Chillan where the reported snow base is only up to 20cm.

Cerro Catedral is now open for snowsports and heavy snow is expected across all of our reported Argentinean resorts at the end of the week.

Austria
The wet and mild weather of last week continued into the weekend across Austria causing the snow to become wet and piste depths to fall.

At Kaprun (6/71cm) and Stubai (120cm) the piste depths have fallen and the snow is now being described as wet rather than soft. Kaprun has 5km of pistes open down to the Langwiedboden while at Stubai there are 2km open.

The largest open ski area is at Hintertux (205cm) where 21km of pistes are available down to the mid station. It is going to be cloudy and wet for the first part of the week and then sunny skies will emerge on Thursday and Friday.

On Monday the Molltal glacier (230cm) is temporarily closed due to poor weather.

France
The Pissaillas glacier at Val d’Isere (100cm) opened for skiing on Saturday. The piste conditions are great thanks to the excellent snowfalls at the end of the winter season. The weather this week is forecast to be sunny in the morning with more unsettled conditions in the afternoon.

The Grande Motte glacier at Tignes (150cm) is open with five pistes available. This includes one blue run, three red runs and one black run. A combination of sunny and cloudy spells on Monday is forecast to get a little clearer by Tuesday. The clouds could then return on Wednesday afternoon.

At Les Deux Alpes (320cm) all of the summer green, blue and red runs are open providing thirteen skiable pistes. Only the black runs are closed. Remember your sun cream as the weather is beautifully sunny on Monday and this is expected to last all week.

Switzerland
Zermatt (185cm) has 6 lifts open on Monday providing access to six open pistes, including two blue runs and four red runs. Changeable weather this week could deliver some rain although the sun will be out at times.

Saas Fee is scheduled to open for the summer ski season on 5th July.

Italy
The Grawand, Finail and Gletschersee pistes are open with good snow cover at Val Senales (100cm). The weather is forecast to be a mixture of sun and cloud all week.

At Passo Tonale the Presena glacier (150cm) has two red runs, Paradiso and Destra, open along with the Sinistra black run. Changeable weather is forecast this week with a chance of some rain in the evenings.

Cervinia is scheduled to open for summer snowsports until 5th July.

North America
It is going to be hot and sunny on the Blackcomb glacier (70cm) at Whistler, Canada. This will cause the snow to become heavy in the afternoon so get up the mountain in the morning for the best conditions.

The sunny weather continues at Timberline (284cm) providing excellent visibility to take advantage of the deep snow cover on the Palmer snowfield. The Magic Mile lift is open from 7am until 1.30pm while the Palmer lift runs from 7.30am until 1.30pm. The terrain park and half-pipe are open.

Australia
Despite further snowfalls at the Australian resorts it is still only possible to ski at Thredbo (0/9cm) and Perisher Blue (9/9cm).

There is only limited skiing on Friday Flat at Thredbo due to a lack of snow but the Pocket Park is also open. On Sunday night the low temperatures meant that 160 snow cannons were up and running and snow is expected on a daily basis this week. Hopefully improvements in the conditions will be seen.

Perisher Blue also has limited skiing and the snow has packed down and become windblown in places. The new cold front has enabled them to have 88 snow cannons up and running on Perisher Valley, parts of Blue Cow and Smiggin Hole. Snow is expected to fall this week accompanied by low temperatures.

Selwyn Snowfields is still temporarily closed until further snow arrives. Ben Lomond, Falls Creek, Mount Baw Baw and Mount Hotham are yet to open for their winter 2008 seasons due to a lack of snow.

New Zealand
Further snowfalls have hit the New Zealand resorts over the weekend. Some resorts have only received a light dusting while others have been blessed with deep powder snow.

A huge amount of new snow landed at Mount Lyford (90/100cm) greatly improving the snow cover. With 85cm of snow falling over the weekend the resort is in excellent shape for the full opening on Tuesday.

The conditions at Mount Hutt (85cm) have really improved after receiving half a metre over the weekend. The main runs have been groomed while off-piste powder conditions dominate. Sunny weather at the start of this week provides perfect visibility for hunting fresh tracks.

Porter Heights (30/60cm) reported 40cm of snow falling this weekend. This is great news as the resort is expected to open for the winter season on 3rd July.

Treble Cone's opening day has been postponed until further notice. They have received some natural snow over the weekend and snowmaking is also helping to cover the slopes, but more snow is needed. With further snowfalls expected this week the resort should be able to open soon.

Strong winds are affecting operations on the North Island although Turoa (174cm) and Whakapapa (130cm) are both now open. The recent wintry weather has seen a real improvement in the snow cover at both resorts and further snowfalls are expected this week, although the strong winds may last all week too.

At Turoa the Alpine Meadow Beginner's area and Parklane chair are open. The resort hopes to be able to open the Movenpick Quad chair at some point on Monday afternoon.

Happy Valley and the Rockgarden are open at Whakapapa and the Waterfall express lift is scheduled to open on Monday afternoon. The resort is working hard to prepare more upper mountain terrain in order that more terrain can be accessed.

Chile
The Three Valleys resorts have good snow cover and sunny weather is forecast all week. La Parva (185/300cm) reports the deepest snow base of the three resorts, followed by El Colorado (130/150cm) then Valle Nevado (70cm).

Portillo (158/178cm) has over a metre and a half of snow across the slopes providing excellent riding conditions. The situation is further enhanced by the clear sunny weather that is forecast to last all week.

Termas de Chillan (10/20cm) is open although the resort is only reporting up to 20cm of snow on the runs. Seven pistes are open with access provided on six lifts. The skies have clouded over and there is a chance of some fresh snowfalls on Monday.

Chapa Verde is not yet open for their winter season.

Argentina
Cerro Catedral (0/30cm) is now open for snowsports. The resort has nine lifts and five pistes open on Monday. It is also cloudy and high winds are raging in the area but these are forecast to subside and it will be a clear and calm until Friday when heavy snow is expected.

It will be a sunny start on Monday at Las Lenas (186/371cm) but clouds are forecast to gather and provide a light dusting on Tuesday. This will freshen up the packed pistes but not have a significant impact on the conditions. It will then become sunny again before the weather closes in on Friday when 31cm of new snow is forecast.

Chapelco is yet to open for the season and snow is expected at the end of the week.

Thursday 26 June 2008

Following a wet and cloudy week across Austria clear skies are forecast for the weekend.

In France Val d’Isere will open for summer skiing on Saturday.

Changeable weather could bring some rain to Zermatt, Switzerland, on Thursday then the sky will clear up providing beautiful sunny weather for skiers over the weekend.

Predominantly sunny weather is forecast this weekend at Val Senales and Presena in Italy, enhancing the summer snowsports experience for skiers and boarders.

Brighter weather is expected for the weekend ahead at the Blackcomb glacier in Canada.

Excellent summer skiing conditions continue at Timberline in America thanks to the deep snow base and fine, sunny weather.

Snow is falling again in Australia and Blue Cow is expected to open at Perisher Blue on Thursday.

Fresh snowfalls have improved the snow cover across the New Zealand resorts this week. Coronet Peak has reopened due to increased snow cover and Mount Lyford has been able to open early. Cardrona is scheduled to open on Saturday 28th June.

Almost all of our reported Chilean resorts are now open for snowsports and the skiing conditions are excellent. The exception is Termas de Chillan where the reported snow base is only up to 20cm.

In Argentina it is only possible to ski at Las Lenas on Thursday.

Austria
It has been a cloudy wet week across Austria and this is set to continue until Saturday, apart from at Stubai (160cm) where sunny weather will arrive on Friday.

Stubai has reduced their open area to 2km on Thursday and wet conditions are to be found underfoot. Similar heavy conditions are also reported at Kaprun (35/100cm) where 5km of pistes are open.

The best ski conditions are reported on the Molltal glacier (230cm) which has 9km of pistes open. Lower temperatures and an excellent piste depth have kept the snow firmer than at other resorts.

France
The Grande Motte glacier at Tignes (150cm) is open with 5 pistes available. This includes 1 blue run, 2 red runs and 2 black runs. Also in the Espace Killy the Pissaillas glacier at Val d’Isere will open for summer skiing this Saturday 28th June 2008. Predominantly sunny weather is forecast this weekend but some clouds could move in on Sunday.

At Les Deux Alpes (320cm) all of the summer green, blue and red runs are open. This means there are 13 skiable available with access provided on 20 open lifts. The fine, sunny weather on Thursday is forecast to last throughout the weekend.

Switzerland
There are 7 lifts open at Zermatt (185cm) on Thursday providing access to 6 open pistes, including 2 blue runs and 4 red runs. Changeable weather on Thursday could deliver some rain then the sun is forecast to shine all weekend.

Saas Fee is now closed for the winter season. They are hoping to open for the summer ski season on 5th July.

Italy
The Grawand, Finail and Gletschersee pistes are open at Val Senales (100cm). The visibility is excellent thanks to the beautiful sunny weather which is forecast to last throughout the weekend, although some light clouds will move over at times.

At Passo Tonale the Presena glacier (150cm) has been blessed with predominantly sunny weather this week and this is forecast to remain over the weekend. The two red runs, Paradiso and Destra, are open along with the Sinistra black run.

Cervinia is scheduled to open for summer snowsports until 5th July.

North America
The cloudy, wet weather on Thursday is set to disappear with a bright sunny weekend forecast for the Blackcomb glacier (70cm) at Whistler in Canada. The best skiing will be in the morning when the lifts open before the snow becomes heavy underfoot.

The sunny weather continues at Timberline (274cm) providing excellent visibility to take advantage of the deep snow cover on the Palmer snowfield. The Magic Mile lift is open from 7am until 1.30pm while the Palmer lift runs from 7.30am until 1.30pm. The terrain park and half-pipe are open from 9am until 3pm.

Australia
Further dustings of snow fell in Australia on Wednesday night and more is expected on Thursday. The wind has also picked up producing blizzard like conditions so it is essential to wrap up well while up the mountain.

Skiing is still only available at Thredbo (0/9cm) and Perisher Blue (9/9cm). The cover at these resorts is limited but both resorts do have the snow cannons up and running.

At Perisher Blue the new natural snow and also the work of the snow cannons has meant that they are expecting to open Blue Cow on Thursday. The snowy weather is expected to clear for the weekend ahead.

Thredbo has a limited cover of snow on Friday Flat and snowmaking is up and running on Ballroom and Walkabout at the Cruiser, High Noon, the Supertrail and World Cup trails.

Selwyn Snowfields is still temporarily closed until further snow arrives. Ben Lomond, Falls Creek, Mount Baw Baw and Mount Hotham are yet to open for their winter 2008 seasons due to a lack of snow.

New Zealand
The conditions at Mount Hutt (50/54cm) are great thanks to 25cm of new snow falling this week. On-piste the cover is groomed providing excellent carving conditions, while off-piste fresh lines are possible and there are some deep pockets of wind blown snow to play in. More snow could fall this weekend.

The conditions at Coronet Peak (20/40cm) have really improved following this weeks snowfalls, and more snow is expected to fall on Thursday. Overnight grooming on M1, Big Easy, Million Dollar, Mid gulley, Hurdle, Shirtfront, Greengates, upper Wall St, Lower Wall St and the beginner’s area provides great riding.

Mount Lyford (15/20cm) was scheduled to open on 27th June, but they have opened the learner's slope following this week’s snowfalls. The main ski area is expected to be open for skiers this weekend, and further snowfalls could fall then too.

Cardrona (40cm) is expected to open for the winter season on 27th June 2008. A good amount of snow has fallen this week and further snowfalls are expected before the weekend, really improving the conditions for the start of the season.

Unfortunately The Remarkables (10/35cm) is still closed but more snow has fallen this week, and the cold temperatures mean that snowmaking is possible. Hopefully the resort will open soon.

Harsh wintry conditions on the North Island at Turoa (107cm) and Whakapapa (86cm) mean that resort operations have remained closed all week, but the winds are forecast to drop this weekend with snowfalls continuing. When the resorts reopen the riding will be superb.

Chile
La Parva (185/300cm) reports the deepest snow base of the Three Valleys resorts and has excellent snow conditions following 35cm of new snow falling in the last week. The skies have clouded over although some sun is forecast to break through as we head into the weekend.

El Colorado (130/150cm) has great riding conditions with over a metre of snow covering the 55 open pistes. A combination of sunny and cloudy spells is forecast over the weekend, with heavier clouds next week that could deliver further snowfalls.

Although Valle Nevado (70cm) reports the shallowest snow base of the Three Valleys resorts, the skiing is still great. Unfortunately the snowpark and half-pipe are still closed. Overcast skies on Thursday will thin out on Friday and some sun will shine through over the weekend.

Portillo (164/185cm) offers excellent riding after receiving more than 60cm of fresh snow over the last week. The weather is forecast to be a mixture of sunny and cloudy spells for most of the weekend.

Termas de Chillan (10/20cm) Termas de Chillan is now open although the resort is only reporting up to 20cm of snow on the runs. 7 pistes are open with access provided on 6 lifts. The weather over the weekend is expected to be a mixture of sun and cloud.

Chapa Verde is not yet open for their winter season.

Argentina
In Argentina the only skiing available out of the resorts we report on is at Las Lenas (186/371cm). The cloudy skies accompanied by temperatures around freezing have protected the snow and good piste skiing can be found in the open areas.

Cerro Catedral and Chapelco are yet to open for the season and snow is expected to fall on Thursday at Cerro Catedral.

Monday 23 June 2008

The summer seasons are now under way at the Kitzsteinhorn and Molltal glaciers in Austria.

In France Tignes opened for the summer ski season this weekend and 4 pistes are available on Monday.

More skiable terrain is open on Monday at Zermatt, Switzerland. Thundery weather could move in on Tuesday.

Predominantly sunny weather is forecast all week at Val Senales and Presena in Italy. The snow cover is good at both resorts, with skiing possible on 7 pistes at Val Senales and 3 pistes at Presena.

It is going to be a mainly cloudy week at the Blackcomb glacier with sunnier weather expected towards the end of the week.

Excellent summer skiing conditions continue at Timberline in America thanks to the deep snow base.

Snow fell over the weekend at a few of the Australian resorts but more is needed so that the winter season can get underway at most resorts.

Mount Hutt, New Zealand has great snow conditions thanks to heavy snowfalls on Sunday night and more snow is expected this week. The Remarkables is unfortunately not yet open due the lack of snow, but wintry weather this week could change this.

The open Chilean resorts are revelling in the excellent conditions after fresh snowfalls this weekend.

Cerro Catedral and Chapelco have both delayed the start of their winter seasons.

Austria
The Kitzsteinhorn glacier (66/128cm) and the Molltal glacier (260cm) have now opened for their summer seasons. The Kitzsteinhorn glacier at Kaprun has 5km of pistes open and the Molltal glacier has 9km. It is best to stick to the upper areas at both resorts as the snow will remain firmer for longer there.

At Hintertux (265cm), Stubai (160cm) and the Dachstein glacier (640cm) the best skiing is also on the upper pistes. Rain is expected at all resorts this week which will cause the snow to become wet so it is best to ski early in the morning after the cooler overnight temperatures have firmed up the snow.

France
The Grande Motte glacier at Tignes (150cm) is now open with 4 pistes available. Beautiful sunny weather on Monday morning is forecast to be broken up by some clouds in the afternoon, although this week the weather is expected to be mostly sunny until Thursday.

All of the summer green, blue and red runs are open on the glacier at Les Deux Alpes (320cm), providing 13 skiable pistes, with access on 21 lifts. Only the black runs are closed. Predominantly sunny weather is expected this week with temperatures rising slightly on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Val d'Isere is scheduled to open for the summer ski season on 28th June 2008.

Switzerland
There are now 10 lifts open at Zermatt (185cm) providing access to 6 pistes, including 4 red runs and 2 blue runs. Predominantly sunny skies on Monday will be replaced by more changeable weather on Tuesday, and this could be quite stormy with rain and thunder possible.

Saas Fee is now closed for the winter season. They are hoping to open for the summer ski season on 5th July.

Italy
At Val Senales (100cm) the Grawand, Finail and Gletschersee pistes are open and have good snow cover. The visibility is excellent thanks to the sunny weather on Monday, and this should last for most of the week with some light clouds moving overhead.

The weather about the Presena glacier (150cm) is also beautifully sunny with only light clouds passing over on Monday and this is forecast to last for most of the week. The two red runs, Paradiso and Destra, are open along with the Sinistra black run.

Cervinia is scheduled to open for summer snowsports until 5th July.

North America
Cloudy weather is expected on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Blackcomb glacier (70cm) in Whistler, Canada but it will then brighten up for the end of the week. Skiing is available from 11am with groups allowed up earlier.

Timberline (381m) in the USA offers excellent summer riding conditions with more than 180cm of snow covering the open ski area. The Magic Mile lift is open from 7am until 1.30pm while the Palmer lift runs from 7.30am until 1.30pm. The terrain park and half-pipe are also open. The fantastic weather that has blessed visitors recently continues this week, providing excellent visibility to enjoy the great snow cover.

Australia
Dustings of snow have fallen at a few of the Australian ski resorts but more is needed for many to open.

Snowsports are only available on Monday at Thredbo (9/9cm) and Perisher Blue (9/9cm). Perisher Blue continues to only offer skiing on Front Valley where the cover is soft. The lower temperatures mean that the snow making has been up and running on Blue Cow, Smiggin Holes and Perisher Valley. Thredbo has also had the snow cannons running and the cover on Friday Flat is now firm due to the new manmade snow.

Selwyn Snowfields was open for snowsports last week but they have had to temporarily close due to a lack of snow. They will reopen once the conditions allow them to do so. Mount Buller is also temporarily closed awaiting further snowfalls.

Ben Lomond, Falls Creek, Mount Baw Baw and Mount Hotham are yet to open for their winter 2008 seasons due to a lack of snow.

New Zealand
At Mount Hutt (50cm) a heavy dump of snow fell overnight on Sunday providing fresh snow conditions for Monday's visitors. Further light snowfalls are expected until Wednesday so this week is a great time to be skiing and boarding.

Coronet Peak (5/30cm) is still closed due to the lack of snow but some light snow fell on Sunday night and more is expected this week. The cold temperatures also mean that the snow machines can keep running, adding more snow and the resort hopes to be able to reopen for snowsports midweek.

Unfortunately The Remarkables (10/20cm) has not yet opened but a light dusting of snow fell on Sunday night and further snowfalls are expected on Monday night. The cold temperature also means that snowmaking can help add more cover to the trails. As the base gets thicker and becomes more complete the resort will hopefully be able to open for snowsports.

On the North Island at Turoa (42cm) the lifts are closed on Monday due to strong winds. The good news is that fresh snow is falling and this is expected to continue throughout the week. Turoa is still saying that more snow is needed before they can open the upper mountain facilities.

Whakapapa (5cm) is closed due the lack of snow cover. Snow is falling on Monday, although the precipitation is quite wet. The good news is that further snowfalls are expected all week.

Chile
Predominantly sunny weather is forecast all week at our reported Chilean resorts although heavier clouds could move in for a time on Tuesday.

Some fresh snow fell over the weekend at Valle Nevado (70cm). The sun is shining on Monday providing excellent visibility to take advantage of the good riding conditions.

There are now 70 pistes open at El Colorado (130/150cm) with fantastic conditions thanks to the fresh snow that fell over the weekend.

La Parva (185/300cm) has fantastic conditions thanks to the recent snowfalls. With the sun breaking through at times on Monday the visibility is good, allowing visitors to take full advantage of the superb snow.

At Portillo (188/208cm) around 60cm of fresh snow has fallen since our report last Thursday, providing superb riding conditions on and off the trails.

Termas de Chillan (10/20cm) is now open although the resort is only reporting up to 20cm of snow on the runs. 7 pistes are open with access provided on 6 lifts. The predominantly sunny weather this week means it looks unlikely that Termas will receive any fresh snow before next weekend.

Argentina
Cerro Catedral and Chapelco were both expected to open on Friday for their winter seasons but these have been postponed until more snow arrives.

Las Lenas (120/150cm) is open for skiing and it will be a cloudy but dry week at the resort. Better weather is expected towards next weekend.

Thursday 19 June 2008

The Molltal glacier and Kitzsteinhorn glacier in Austria are scheduled to open at the weekend for summer skiing.

In France Les Deux Alpes has more lifts and pistes open on the glacier than at the start of the week, and Tignes is scheduled to open for the summer ski season on Saturday.

Zermatt in Switzerland is open for snowsports with skiing possible on the Furggsattel red run.

In Italy the Val Senales glacier is now open for the summer ski season, along with the Presena glacier.

Cloudy wet weather is expected at the Blackcomb glacier at Whistler, Canada over the weekend.

Excellent summer skiing conditions continue at Timberline in America thanks to the deep snow base.

Snow is expected to fall across the resorts of Australia at the weekend.

In New Zealand Mount Hutt and Turoa are open while Whakapapa has been forced to close due to the lack of snow. The Remarkables is scheduled to open on Saturday.

Fresh snow is forecast to land before the weekend at all of the open Chilean resorts we report on

Cerro Catedral and Chapelco are both expected to open on Friday for their winter seasons.

Austria
The glaciers at Molltal and Kaprun are due to open for their summer seasons this weekend. Molltal will reopen on Friday with Kaprun opening on Saturday.

A dusting of snow fell on Monday at the Stubai glacier (180cm) but as with the other open summer ski resorts in Austria conditions on the mountain are wet becoming heavy later in the day. This will not change as it is expected to get cloudy at the weekend and rain is forecast.

21km of pistes are open at the Hintertux glacier (265cm). It is best to ski early in the morning before the pistes become too heavy. This is also true on the 3 open pistes at the Dachstein glacier (640cm).

France
There are seven more lifts open at Les Deux Alpes (320cm) on Thursday than at the start of this week, bringing the total to 24. All of the summer green, blue and red runs are open providing 13 skiable pistes. Only the black runs are closed. Cloudy weather on Thursday is forecast to move aside leaving sunny skies over the weekend.

Tignes is scheduled to open for the summer ski season on 21st June.

Val d'Isere is scheduled to open for the summer ski season on 28th June 2008.

Switzerland
At Zermatt (185cm) the Furi-Trockener Steg lift is closed, but there are still 6 other lifts operating with skiing available on the Furggsattel red run. The skies have brightened up since Monday and predominantly sunny weather is forecast this weekend.

Saas Fee is now closed for the winter season. They are hoping to open for the summer ski season on 5th July.

Italy
Val Senales (100cm) is open for summer skiing and the sun is trying to shine on Thursday, in between cloudy spells. This mixture of sun and cloud is expected to remain throughout the weekend. The Grawand, Finail and Gletschersee pistes are open and have good snow cover.

The skies over the Presena glacier (200cm) have cleared a lot since the start of the week leaving only light cloud cover interrupting the sunshine on Thursday. The predominantly sunny weather is forecast to last all weekend. The two red runs, Paradiso and Destra, are open along with the Sinistra black run.

Cervinia is scheduled to open for summer snowsports until 5th July.

North America
It is going to continue to be wet and cloudy at the Blackcomb glacier (70cm) in Canada. Skiing is available on the glacier from 11am and conditions underfoot are wet to heavy.

The superb snow depth at Timberline (381m) in the USA means that ski conditions are better than they appear to be in Canada. The deep base means that the snow temperature remains colder providing firmer cover on the slopes. The Magic Mile lift is open from 7am until 1.30pm while the Palmer lift runs from 7.30am until 1.30pm. Thursday's visitors will be blessed with more beautiful sunny weather then some clouds are forecast to move in on Saturday. This could unfortunately bring some rain to the area.

Australia
Clouds have started to gather across the Australian resorts and snow is expected to fall over the weekend.

Unfortunately due to the mild temperatures earlier in the week Mount Buller (5/5cm) has had to close temporarily. The snow cover is now insufficient for snowsports. They do have the Holden Express lift open on Thursday providing access to the mountain.

At Perisher Blue (0/10cm) the mini Fusion Terrain Park has been expanded. There is now a 6 metre flat down combo box, a 5 metre box and a 5 metre rail with the possible inclusion of a 3 metre rail. For those looking to practice their turns then Front Valley is open with a cover of soft snow.

Snowsports at Selwyn Snowfields (8/8cm) are limited to the manmade snow areas on New Chum Bowl and the Ski School Learning Area. The mild temperatures this week mean that on Thursday the cover will be soft from first thing in the morning.

Friday Flat and the Cruiser have both been open this week at Thredbo (10/10cm). The Cruiser will be closed on Friday due to mild temperatures decreasing the snow cover.

Ben Lomond, Falls Creek, Mount Baw Baw and Mount Hotham are yet to open for Winter 2008 due to a lack or snow.

New Zealand
At Mount Hutt (35cm) Highway 72, Broadway, Morning Glory and Hubers are in great shape thanks to overnight grooming. Highway 72 is a patrolled slow skiing area, so ski with care. The New Zealand Alpine National Team is currently training at Mt Hutt. The sunny weather is expected to last all weekend.

Due to rain and mild temperatures Coronet Peak has had to close for snowsport until the temperature drops and more snow falls. As soon as it is cold enough the resort will start to make snow too.

The Remarkables (10/20cm) is expected to open for the winter season on 21st June 2008. This weather this week has been a little warm, but a cooler front is expected from Sunday. This could deliver some fresh snow on Sunday and Monday.

On the North Island Turoa (38cm) is open for snowsports although only the Alpine Meadow Beginners lift and the Movenpick Quad chairlift are open. More snow is needed before they can open the upper mountain facilities. Sunny skies are forecast for the start of the weekend before the clouds move in on Sunday.

Whakapapa (5cm) is now closed for snowsports due to limited snow cover although the Centennial and Waterfall Express chairlifts are open for sightseeing. Happy Valley requires more snow to reopen. The sunny weather is forecast to remain over the weekend.

All of the other New Zealand resorts that we report on are yet to open for the 2008 winter season.

Chile
Cloudy skies are forecast to deliver some fresh snow to the Chilean resort before the weekend.

The wintry weather has reduced some of the operations in the Three Valleys. There are only 40 pistes and 6 lifts open on Thursday at El Colorado compared with 70 pistes and 13 lifts on Monday. At La Parva (135/245cm) there are only 10 runs open on Thursday and the link to Valle Nevado is closed.

At Portillo (135/155cm) partly sunny skies are forecast for Friday, which will provide better visibility to take advantage of Thursday’s snowfalls. This weekend looks very promising for anyone skiing at Portillo.

The other Chilean resorts that we report on are yet to open.

Argentina
Cerro Catedral and Chapelco are both scheduled to open on Friday 20th June. Dustings of snow fell at both resorts on Monday and more is expected on Thursday to top up the pistes before the grand opening weekend.

Las Lenas (120/150cm) continues to offer excellent conditions after a dusting of snow on Wednesday. 12cm of snow is expected later on Thursday which will provide powder conditions for the weekend ahead.

Snow fell across Australia at the end of last week and Selwyn Snowfields and Mount Buller are now open for the season.

In New Zealand Mount Hutt, Turoa and Whakapapa are open although the cover is not great at the North Island resorts.

All of the Chilean Three Valleys are now open for snowsports.

Las Lenas is the first of our reported Argentinean resorts to open and the snow cover is excellent.

Austria
Snow fell on Friday at the Hintertux glacier (265cm) and on Sunday at the Stubai glacier (180cm). Dustings of snow are forecast for later in the week but with the warmer temperatures there is a high possibility that the precipitation will fall as rain rather than snow.

The Dachstein glacier (640cm) continues to have three pistes open along with the Atomic Snowpark. It is cloudy over the glacier on Monday and rain is expected on Tuesday before bright sunny weather returns on Wednesday.

The Kitzsteinhorn glacier at Kaprun is closed in preparation for the summer ski season. The glacier will open for summer skiing on 21st June.

The Molltal glacier is closed until the 20th June when it will reopen for its summer ski season.

France
Les Deux Alpes (230cm) is now open for summer skiing until 30th August 2008. Seventeen lifts are open providing access to four green runs, four blue runs and two red runs. The glacier provides great summer skiing conditions on the well groomed pistes. The temperature is below freezing on the glacier this week, helping to preserve the snow cover.

Tignes is closed in preparation for the summer ski season which is scheduled to commence on 21st June.

Val d'Isere is scheduled to open for the summer ski season on 28th June 2008.

Switzerland
At Zermatt (185cm) the Furi-Trockener Steg lift is closed on Monday, but there are still six other lifts operating. Skiing is possible on the Furggsattel red run. Changeable weather on Monday and Tuesday could deliver some rain to the area then the skies will brighten up from Wednesday.

Saas Fee is now closed for the winter season. They are hoping to open for the summer ski season on 5th July.

Italy
Val Senales (10cm) is now open for summer skiing, although the cloudy skies on Monday have reduced the visibility. This cloudy weather is forecast to remain until Wednesday. The Grawand, Finail and Gletschersee pistes are open and have good snow cover.

Cloudy skies over the Presena glacier (200cm) on Monday are forecast to deliver some precipitation. This will hopefully fall as snow on the glacier. The two red runs, Paradiso and Destra, are open along with the Sinistra black run.

Cervinia is scheduled to open for summer snowsports until 5th July.

North America
After Monday it is going to be a cloudy and wet week about the Blackcomb glacier (75cm) at Whistler in Canada. There is a chance of snow on the uppermost peaks during the week but the snow will remain soft to heavy as temperatures are expected to be fairly mild.

Timberline (381m) in the USA offers excellent summer riding conditions. The Magic Mile lift will be open from 7am until 1.30pm on Monday while the Palmer lift will run from 7.30am until 1.30pm. Beautiful sunny weather expected on Monday then the clouds will build through the week with wet weather forecast for Thursday.

Australia
Snow fell across Australia at the end of last week and two more resorts have now opened for snowsports. Mount Buller (15/15cm) and Selwyn Snowfields (10/10cm) have limited skiing available on a mixture of natural and manmade snow.

At Mount Buller Blue Carpet is open for learners and Blue Bullet for other abilities while at Selwyn Snowfields Chum Bowl and the Ski School Learning Area are available. At both resorts the cover is firm in the morning but soon softens.

Perisher Blue (0/10cm) has now opened the Village 8 chair providing quick access to Front Valley. Beginners are best advised to use the Mitchell T-bar and the ski carpet due to the current conditions. The cool temperatures overnight have allowed the snowmaking machines to be up and running producing fresh snow.

Thredbo (10/10cm) has four trails open for general use; Easy Does It, Squatters Run, Walkabout and Ballroom. They have a thin cover of natural and manmade snow which is firm in the morning but soon softens.

New Zealand
Mount Hutt (35cm) is now open for skiing and boarding, and the resort is reporting great conditions. This week will sunny skies are expected to dominate. Highway 72, Broadway, Morning Glory and Lower Fascination are freshly groomed with firm snow for the first runs of the day. The snow then softens as the day heats up.

Due to rain and mild temperatures Coronet Peak has had to close for snowsport until the temperature drops and more snow falls. As soon as it is cold enough the resort will start to make snow too.

On the North Island, predominantly sunny weather is forecast all week. Turoa (40/40cm) Turoa is now open for snowsports although only the Alpine Meadow Beginners lift is running. More snow is needed before they can open the upper mountain facilities. Alpine Meadow Platter #2 is open and there is a box and rail set up for freestyle manoeuvres.

Whakapapa (10cm) is now open for snowsports although only limited beginner terrain is available on Happy Valley. Further snowfalls are needed before the upper mountain facilities can open. Sunny weather is forecast for most of this week.

All of the other New Zealand resorts that we report on are yet to open for the 2008 winter season.

Chile
All of the Chilean Three Valleys resorts are now open for skiing and boarding. La Parva (125/215cm) has the greatest snow base with over two metres measured on the upper slopes. El Colorado (120/130cm) is also in excellent condition with over a metre of snow across the slopes. Valle Nevado (60cm) was the last of the three areas to open but the conditions look really good and the connections to the other resorts are open. Heavy clouds are forecast to move in on Wednesday and these could deliver some fresh snowfalls.

Portillo (150/200cm) moved their scheduled opening date forward from 21st June to 14th June although they are not reporting any open lifts on Monday. We will provide a further update on the situation at Portillo on Thursday.

The other Chilean resorts that we report on are yet to open.

Argentina
Las Lenas (120/150cm) is now open for the 2008 winter season and the snow cover is excellent. All of the runs are complete providing plenty of terrain for visitors. Sunny weather at the start of the week will be replaced by cloudy skies from Wednesday. This thick cloud could deliver some fresh snow.

The other Argentinean resorts that we report on are yet to open for the 2008 winter season.

Thursday 12 June 2008

More southern hemisphere resorts plan to open this weekend. Even though it is the summer season in the northern hemisphere, some snow has fallen.

20cm of snow fell on Wednesday at the Stubai glacier in Austria and snow is expected at all of the open Austrian glacial resorts over the weekend.

Les Deux Alpes in France is scheduled to open for summer skiing on Saturday.

Zermatt in Switzerland is open for skiing with skiing possible on the Furggsattel red run.

In Italy Val Senales is scheduled to open for the summer ski season on Saturday 14th June.

Summer skiing operations have now started on the Blackcomb glacier at Whistler, Canada and these will continue until the 27th July.

Excellent summer skiing conditions are reported at Timberline in America due the recent snowfalls.

The clouds have started to gather across Australia and snow is forecast until Saturday evening.

In New Zealand Coronet Peak is already open for skiing and boarding. Mount Hutt, Turoa and Whakapapa are schedule to open for the winter season on Saturday 14th June.

La Parva and El Colorado, Chile, are already open and the remaining Three Valleys resort of Valle Nevado is scheduled to open on Friday 13th June.

Austria
Wintry weather returned to the Stubai glacier (180cm) on Wednesday when 20cm of snow fell. Conditions are still reported to be wet but the temperatures are expected to fall over the weekend which will help the base to firm up. There is further good news as the 3km of open pistes are forecast to receive daily dustings of snow over the weekend.

Snow is also forecast at the other open glaciers at Dachstein (640cm) and Hintertux (305cm) over the coming weekend. On Thursday clouds have started to gather and snow is forecast for later in the day.

The Dachstein glacier now has 6km of pistes open and an additional lift bringing the total lifts to three. At Hintertux there are 21km of pistes open and 15cm of snow is forecast to fall over the weekend.

The Kitzsteinhorn glacier at Kaprun is closed in preparation for the summer ski season. The glacier will open for summer skiing on 21st June.

The Molltal glacier is closed until the 20th June when it will reopen for its summer ski season.

France
Les Deux Alpes opens for the summer ski season on 14th June. Cloudy skies are forecast on Friday, with brighter weather returning briefly on Saturday before further cloudy weather on Sunday.

Tignes is closed in preparation for the summer ski season which is scheduled to commence on 21st June.

Val d'Isere is scheduled to open for the summer ski season on 28th June 2008.

Switzerland
At Zermatt (187cm) the Zermatt-Furi, Furi-Trockener Steg, Klein Matterhorn and Furggsattel Gletscherbahn lifts are open with skiing possible on the Furggsattel red run. The weather is a combination of sunny and cloudy spells on Thursday and this is forecast to continue throughout the weekend.

Saas Fee is now closed for the winter season. They are hoping to open for the summer ski season on 5th July.

Italy
Val Senales is scheduled to open for summer skiing on 14th June. Sunny and cloudy spells are forecast over the weekend.

Changeable weather is forecast all weekend at the Presena glacier (200cm) but this is expected to be drier than the wet weather that has been seen recently. The two red runs, Paradiso and Destra, are open along with the Sinistra black run.

Cervinia is scheduled to open for summer snowsports until 5th July.

North America
It is going to be a bright sunny week at the Blackcomb glacier (75cm) at Whistler. Summer skiing operations are now in force with first lift up the mountain at 11am for snowsports unless you are on a camp when it is 7.30am. The open terrain is for intermediate and advanced skiers.

The conditions are excellent at Timberline (378m) in the USA due to the deep snow base that has been further enhanced by the recent snowfalls. The Pucci lift is open from 7am until 1.30pm. A combination of sunny and cloudy spells is forecast throughout the weekend.

Australia
There have not been any significant changes in the situation in Australia. Perisher Blue (0/10cm) and Thredbo (0/10cm) are still the only resorts open for skiing on Thursday. The good news is that the clouds are starting to build across the resorts and snow is forecast to fall until Saturday.

At Perisher Blue skiing is still only available on Front Valley. On Thursday the mini terrain park is due to open with three boxes which will provide something for all abilities.

Thredbo has riding on Friday Flat which has a cover of patchy man made snow. The early morning sun on Thursday softened the cover providing good conditions for beginners making their first turns.

Falls Creek, Mount Baw Baw, Mount Buller, Mount Hotham and Selwyn Snowfields have delayed their openings due to a lack of snow.

New Zealand
Coronet Peak (15/20cm) is now open for the winter season. They have good conditions on M1, Shirt Front, Hurdle, Million Dollar, Greengates, Big Easy Trails and the beginner’s area. Predominantly sunny weather is expected this weekend, although Saturday could see some heavier clouds.

Mount Hutt (50/60cm) is expected to open for their winter season on 14th June 2008. The snow conditions are really good thanks to the recent snowfalls. Heavy clouds are forecast from Friday through the weekend, accompanied by strong winds.

On the North Island, Turoa (40/40cm) and Whakapapa (20/20cm) plan to open for the winter season on 14th June 2008. Unfortunately Turoa report that they do need more snow before they can open the facilities even though they are making snow when the weather permits. At Whakapapa Happy Valley has groomed manmade snow, but the upper mountain requires more natural snowfalls before the trails can be prepared. A combination of sunny and cloudy spells is forecast across the weekend at both resorts.

All of the other New Zealand resorts that we report on are yet to open for the 2008 winter season.

Chile
The Three Valleys resorts of El Colorado (120/130cm) and La Parva (125/215cm) are open for snowsports with excellent early season snow cover and beautiful sunny skies. The remaining Three Valleys resort, Valle Nevado opens for their winter season on Friday 13th June.

Portillo (150/200cm) has moved their planned opening date forward from 21st June to 14th June due to the amount of snow they have received. Visitors for their opening weekend will have a great time with predominantly sunny skies overhead and lots of snow on the ground.

The other Chilean resorts that we report on are yet to open.

Argentina
All of the Argentinean resorts that we report on are yet to open for the 2008 winter season.

Monday 9 June 2008

This weekend some of our reported southern hemisphere resorts opened for their winter season.

20cm of snow is forecast on Thursday at the Hintertux glacier in Austria.

Skiing is again possible at Zermatt in Switzerland although more wet weather could affect the snow this week.

Skiing is possible on the Presena glacier in Italy, although changeable weather this week could bring more wet weather.

Snow is expected on Monday at the Blackcomb glacier at Whistler, Canada.

Timberline in America has superb conditions for skiing and boarding due the fresh snow that fell last week. Further snowfalls are expected at the start of this week.

In Australia Perisher Blue and Thredbo are now open with limited skiing available.

Coronet Peak in New Zealand is open for skiing and boarding and the area received a light dusting of fresh snow over the weekend.

La Parva and El Colorado, Chile, are open and have excellent conditions thanks to the amount of snow that has fallen recently.

Austria
On Monday skiing is available at three of the Austrian summer ski resorts that we report on.

The Dachstein glacier (640cm) has the greatest piste depths but only two pistes are open along with the Atomic snow park. Conditions are typical of the time of year; firm in the morning and softening as the day progresses.

Skiing is also available at the Hintertux glacier (305cm). It is possible to ski down to the middle station and 21km of pistes are open. The pistes will become wet on Tuesday and Wednesday as rain is forecast but on Thursday snow is expected due to a drop in temperature.

The Stubai glacier (200cm) has 3km of pistes open with a wet covering of snow. The snow will remain heavy throughout the week as it is forecast to be cloudy and rainy all week.

The Kitzsteinhorn glacier at Kaprun is closed in preparation for the summer ski season. The glacier will open for summer skiing on 21st June.

The Molltal glacier is closed until the 20th June when it will reopen for its summer ski season.

France
Tignes is closed in preparation for the summer ski season which is scheduled to commence on 21st June.

Val d'Isere is scheduled to open for the summer ski season on 28th June 2008.

Les Deux Alpes is scheduled to open for summer snowsports on 14th June.

Switzerland
The conditions have improved on the glacier at Zermatt (187cm). The Zermatt-Furi, Furi-Trockener Steg and Furggsattel Gletscherbahn lifts are open with skiing possible on the Furggsattel red run. Changeable weather is forecast this week, which could bring some rain to the area.

Saas Fee is now closed for the winter season. They are hoping to open for the summer ski season on 5th July.

Italy
The changeable weather this week could bring more rain to the Presena glacier (300cm). The two red runs, Paradiso and Destra, are still open along with the Sinistra black run.
Val Senales is scheduled to open on 14th June for summer skiing.

Cervinia is scheduled to open for summer snowsports until 5th July.

North America
Snow is expected on Monday at the Blackcomb glacier (75cm) at Whistler in Canada. There are currently eight groomed trails open with typical spring conditions to be enjoyed. After cloudy and snowy weather on Monday the weather is expected to brighten up and become sunnier.

The conditions are excellent at Timberline (378cm) due to the amount of snow that fell last week. The Magic Mile and Palmer lifts are open from 8am until 2.30pm. Cloudy skies are expected until Wednesday, with snow possible on Monday and Tuesday.

Australia
Saturday 7th June was meant to be the grand opening for all bar one of the Australian ski resorts. Unfortunately due to a lack of snow only Perisher Blue (0/10cm) and Thredbo (0/10cm) were able to open.

Perisher Blue has skiing on the Front Valley but only a limited area is open. At Thredbo Friday Flat is open with a cover of m
