QUOTE (jdderbys - 05/07/2008 @ 19:41:25)

while thats noble you should buy for the board not the company

As I said, I know I should really be trying first which is why I was just curious about opinions.

Cheers for the thoughts all

I have the freedom in a 160 (bit lengthy for me now) but as an seasoned(ish) boarder i think its tops.
The flex on the board is superb for a beginner, the base holds up real well to pretty much anything you can ride on. I use mine alot on artifical and the odd wet grassy hill and the base is nye on perfect...well apart from needing a new wax.
And as you say the firm is British and full of nice guys. Better my money going there than to some corperate giant i guess....
And as for the base graphics.....dont think you are gonna get sweeter anywhere you look.

Hope this helps

I would say it is more of an improver board than a newbie board to be honest. If you want a board go for it as they are cheap but go to your local shop first and have a chat with the people there.

I'm a way off getting my first board yet, and I appreciate you should try before you buy, but I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on the True Freedom 156 as a First board? I've read lots of good things about it but couldn't see anything relating to how well it would suit a noob x) I guess I just like the thought of my money going to a smaller English company when I invest in a board

Cheers!
