Looks reasonable, would be interested in a demo on one...

Yes - as you probably know "metal" has taken over race construction partly for that reason.

Still, the guy on the plastic board there wasn't too shabby. I note he folded the nose at one point on piste, which is not surprising.

I hope you're right, I decided against a MTX board the other day and picked up a Salomon Special Era 159 instead. Similar to the loft but not as stiff I don't think.
Looks spiffing with my relay thrusters too!

It'll be interesting to see if other companies start going for this Magnetraction stuff, it does seem like the bananna style boards are catching on though, I think I heard Neversummer will be doing it next year..

haha, get ready for a backlash with a comment like that!

Maybe...

But I tell you what, if magnetraction was really good in ice alpine snowboard companies would have adopted it straight away. I rode the board myself and found out that it was not as good
in terms of carving than Loft or even WWW! Magnetraction cannot compensate for low torsional stiffness, IMHO.

Anyway, the company will only ship to US at the moment....

According to the website it costs $300! Not sure I'd want to pay thay much, I'm sure a plastic edge can't perform like a steel one.

Accordingly, they're not recommended for ice.

"Does it hold an edge? YES - the makboard edge holds in all rideable conditions from powder to hardpack (not ice)"

"Can you ride it on ice? NO - not recommended for ice. Sharpen the edge & take it as far as your ability allows"

Kinda park/powder/jib board... reminds me of Lib-tech TRS MTX, by the way...
