#1 Snowboard Addiction ? Posted 22/01/2010 @ 23:50 |

Hey guys, hows it going, hope you've been able to get out the board with this weather in the uk recently :D
I dont know if many have seen the snowboard addiction website with their tutorials and dvd's / downloads...
I was wondering if anyone who has any experience here could post their views on what its like and whether it would be worth it really.
Tbh i'm sure i could find tutorials out there for these tricks and once you get the basics the rest comes along, its mainy just having the balls to go for it really ? then learn from there
Any feedback on the site and whether something like that would be worth it would be much appreciated
8 years boarding but only 1 week a year, bring on next years season in banff :D

I bought them last night, downloaded a few, and will download the rest tonight.
First impression is they are not as detailed as the free ones, available at iTunes and on youtube.
Hopefully the rest will be. They have got a sale at the moment, I think it's 20% off, so I paid about $35 via PayPal.
I agree that you need to understand the basics, and the balls to go for it. But like they advise, start off on the flat piste, then side jumps, then the small kickers and finally big kickers. All pretty straight forward. Same with the jibbing.
Still for £20, I will have them on my iphone and can refer to them on the slopes or in the park. It's not a large amount of money, and the way Nev explains everything, I think I want to give him the money just for being a doood!!
I've seen other tutorials and they are pretty poor in comparrison.
The free tutorials are very good anyway, so if you're starting out with park riding, the 360 and boardslide ones might be enough, if £20 is too much. I guess I will be able to give a better opinion after I have watched them all. |

I've downloaded them, synced my iPhone but can't get them all on there. It says some don't exist. A few are there. If this carries on I guess I'll have to contact them. Never had a problem with syncing movies before? It might be because they are in zip folders.
So far I've watched two of the first ones. They are good, though thought they would be more explanitory than the free episodes. Nev also seems to run through it all very quickly, so have to rewind and visualise myself doing what he advises.
However, even with these drawbacks, I'm happy I downloaded them. For £20, any help possible is a plus.
I will update again after I've watched all of them, and whether or not I get them all on my iPhone. |

I've watched the free ones available and considered downloading the rest too but I didn't do it in the end.
I still can't really make up my mind weather I think it's worth £20 for some video? I'm at the point where I can do some reasonable sized kickers, have just started nailing my 180s and did my first few boardslides a few weeks ago and I really want to get on and progress to 360s, bigger airs and more slides.
Do you think the videos are going to be any more helpful than the free stuff already? I'm not sure if they're worth the money in my situation.
I think if you were just getting into tricks etc and spending a season abroad they'd be ideal to keep you motivated, focussed and progressing. |

Just got all the lessons on my iPhone. There's about an hour of footage there!!! 3GBs!!
Had a look through some of the lessons and there's a massive amount of info, it's all really detailed and well explained. I thought it might be worth just watching the free ones, but I've changed my mind. There's a lot more depth to these clips, with some really detailed explanations of body, head even eye position on each of the tricks to do.
I would highly recommend this. Gonna watch all day at work tomorrow! |
