Didn't do much off piste as I was still quite green under the collar and new to it all but it's a cute resort.....you may end up maing your own evening entertainment if you stay at PSV 1400...but at least getting to bed early means your up early!!! |

Try Gerlos, it is a small village in Austria, but still has a healthy nightlife, the mountains are linked and for all levels. try Berghof gerlos B&B. they are really very friendly and will offer to help you organise ski pass, lessons and more. and they are not too expensive.
I really enjoy gerlos and the surrounding mountains, the wait for the lifts is minutes and you can travel through seven mountains
have a look accommodation info@berghof-gerlos.at and the zillertal arena website |

Puy St Vincent has just come to mind for me. I have skied here many times and although it is not well known to the British it is a lovely place which is basically located over the hill and South of Serre Chevalier. Great snow usually and few Brits around.

| Any country preference, or does it not matter as long as the resort is right? |

Add Laax to your list.
Even though it hosts the Brits, the actual village is pretty small (Flims is a lot bigger). Great terrain too with a couple of parks and plenty of off-piste. |

i went to Les Gets in the spring and that was really nice, theres a few decent bars (althought they were closing at the time cos it was last week of the season) its also linked to Morzine and Avoriaz so if u fancy a day on some different runs u can. The town itself is very nice, I stayed in a chalet run by the chalet experience.
another small place i went was St Johan on a last minute deal, i enjoyed it but even as a relative beginner at the time i found that there werent enough runs and it ended up getting tepetative. there werent to many bars there either in the town. |

I stayed in La dalle (think thats right) just outside Val D'Isere. Few bars and resturants of its own walking distance if you miss the bus of val d'Isere and access to the Espace Killy if you want it if not you can get the cheaper pass.
We stayed there really cheap think it was only £200 pp self catered for a package deal with crystal. During the skiing world cup as well so got some action and managed to find a 40ft rhone alps flag during a 80mph Blizzard |

Pas De La Casa or Soldeu (Gran Valira)
now that they have combined its quite a big area but they are still cheap, have great parks and nice resorts. |

| Passo Tonale in Italy - went there a few years ago. Nice little resort with good variety of terrain and I'm told dead quiet usually (we went for new year though). Ticks all your boxes. |

| Check out Peisey-Vallandry, fantastic offpiste, tree runs, and natural terrain. Nice little village, with a few bars. It's in the heart of the Paradiski region (Les Arcs and La Plagne), and links to these resorts are very easy. check out www.seventy3chalets.com for catered chalet accommodation. |

My friends and I went to Sainte Foy, Rhone-Alpes last year and loved it! We're trying to find somewhere similar (maybe with 1 or 2 more bars!) Can anyone recommend anywhere that would be... Good for boarders (mid weight to experienced) Small to medium sized Picturesque (pretty alpine village) Good nightlife ( a few bards - doesn't have to have nightclubs etc) Good lifts and off piste
Thanks! |
