QUOTE (Bram - 19/08/2008 @ 13:15:28) Now, if only I could find wii fit in stock I managed to get a Wii and Wii Fit about a month ago from Dixons online for a bit of a discount - I mean I'm not talking huge amounts of discount here but every little bit helps as some advert says Anyway, they have a stock alerter that you can sign up to so when they get stock in it sends you an email so you go straight online and place your order. Works a treat!
Really looking forward to the game coming out |

There is a video/advert on the Nintendo Channel available from the Wii Shopping channel.
SW looks pretty cool and should be a good laugh with the balance board but I'd imagine you'll have to use the remote to perform tricks?
IIRC it states the launch is November 2008? Now, if only I could find wii fit in stock |

QUOTE (chr15dallat - 07/08/2008 @ 23:32:48) no way man, ssx sucked ass was completely unrealistic in everyway which i hated. Amped was where it was at. shaun whites game just has standard button controls, if only theyd make a snowboard game with the same engine and controls as skate, it would be unbeatable. OK - We'll agree to disagree with the Amped v SSX3, but I think you are spot on with your comment about using the same controls as Skate. |

because the game engine and what you see in the actual game are two very different things.
half the platform games and some driving games of the last 10 or more years have been based around things like the unreal engine mostly used for fps but can be used for much more. |

| I totally agree, why would you choose Assasins creed over a skate game like Tony Hawk. However i am looking forward to the wii stuff that could still make it fun. |

Just checked out a couple of trailers for this and it looks and sounds top! It's not due out until Winter 2008. Ubisoft usually deliver some pretty good games, so me hopes are high for this.
Hope that it has a control system a bit like Skate for the PS3 - It's not fantastic, but it feels a bit more natural and still *plays* better than T.H. games.
Still think that SSX on the PS2 was the DB's for snowboarding games. The freeride was good although some of the tricks seemed a bit over the top.
Got Family Ski for the Wii - It's canny with the balance board. You do actually get the feeling that your bombing down a mountain, although the speed isn't lightening quick, it still has a bit realism. Especially like the little touches like how when the chair lift goes over a pylon and the controller vibrates to simulate the "judder". Also the music played from the speakers on the slopes sounds "tinny" and is only heard in certain directions.
It's also a shame they didn't have a Snowboard option on Family Ski - There is an unlockable Snowboard slalom with the Wii Fit, which is okay, apart from the fact the rider is only setup Regular, which means goofy is out of the question. Still, suppose it means I get to work on riding switch!
Anyway, just thought of stuff that would be good/bad to include in the SW game....
Good... - Walkie Talkies for those "Broadsword calling Danny-Boy.." moments (Like how the Mobile works in GTA4.) - Knowing that your bones will still be intact when you attempt to pull a 1080 off a kicker the height of Nelsons Column.
Bad... - Lift Queues. - White outs. - Having your character have ginger hair. |
