You may well struggle with the light available at a dry slope to get the shutter speeds you need to freeze the action but it doesn't hurt to try...

On the lens there should be a set of numbers ranging from about 2 to 22. This is the f-number. If you twist the lens, the selected f-number should change. This controls the width of the aperture that the light goes through to get to the chip in the camera body. The narrower the aperture, the greater the depth of field. The higher the f-number selected, the greater the depth of picture that will be in focus.

Have a read of this on Wikipedia for more detailed info.

I suspect you need a faster shutter speed...

I'm by no means an authority, but have you tried increasing the depth of field?

Okay So im having problems shooting sequence shots.

I set up my tripod, and set the camera into muiltishot mode.
Get the kicker in focus and wait for the rider to come through the frame.
On review I find Ive got a perfect sequence of a focused kicker with a blur flying over it.????

Im guessing I might have to track the rider in and then stop at the appropriate place but I dont know?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

O and im using a 30d with a super wide angle if thats any help ?
