Thanks for the offer Steff. We actually have access to a property ourself in Bulgaria, and that has already been dismissed by a few cynical members of the group! Will bear it in mind though............... |

Hiya, have you thought about Bulgaria. I own a bed and breakfast guest house about 10 minutes from the slopes of Borovets and 45 minutes from the main airport, Sofia. Excellent for beginners and intermediate and of course there are cross country runs as well. Cheap and cheerful, flights if booked at this time of year for January will be very reasonably priced and check out my web site www.rilalodge.com. Who knows, i might hear from you soon ! |

Thanks doos. I have been looking DIY - just a lot of places in Austria and Swizterland only allow you to book Saturday to Saturday. With there only being effectively 3 days on the slopes - we also need to make sure the transfer is no more than an hour or so from the airport. Especially as the numb nuts at the budget airlines (infact most airlines) have changed the times of flights so a lot of them leave early evening, rather than late on (the ones relevant to us at least). I have ski safari working on it at the moment, so should hopefully get something back from these guys. La Plagne could be a goer though, will check transfer times. I feel like i have aged about 20 years trying to sort this out! Cheers |

If your needing a package deal i can`t recommend much but surely it`d be easier to DIY it for such short dates.
I`d recommend www.pv-holidays.com but even sites like expedia and others should be able to sort you out for accommodation on short stays. Book 4 studios then get cheap flights and a few hire cars
Just had a quick scout and could do.....Thurs 29th - Sun 1st in La Plagne for about £150 |

Back end of January/beginning of Feb. To be honest - we have been struggling with getting everyone in. 16 is quite a large number for such a short amount of time. Will have to see what options they come up with........... Good contact though - thanks for that! |

I have used www.skisafari.com a couple of times. Once for myself and two mates and then the second time for a group of 20 (business). We went to Flims/LAax which is an excellent resort with good parks and some great freeride areas, it is 1hr 30 mins from Zurich airport.
If your budget conscious we stayed at the Hotel Arena which is 50yards from the main lifts it's basic but clean and got a decent bar/ nightclub downstairs. If you are long cash and want to splash out we stayed at Park Wauldhaus hotel which is super lavish and has an amazing Spa for some serious relaxtion after a good days riding.
The name of the girl I spoke to at Ski Safari was Rebecca.
Pm me if you want more dets.

Thanks all. Have dropped a few people an e-mail from the suggested web sites. Crystal don't do weekend breaks apparently (at least that is what the guy on the phones said). Cheers |

| Morph, have alook at UCPA.com. I've been twice and would recommend it - plus they do short stays. |

I have been looking at the Independants - and essentially doing it all myself. Which is a massive ballache. Will look at Crystal.
Have been going through the local tourist websites - but there seems to be nothing doing.
Thanks everyone! |

Have done a number of long weekends in France in January - March.
Generally we book an "Auberge" (essentially a B&B) through the local tourist office...helps to have a bit of French.
Only really works for the "older" resorts like Chamonix... |

| Morph, are you just looking at independents for the trip ? Some of the large operators now do short stays and weekends. Crystal definitely do, to Kitzbuhel, Flaine, Tignes, Cham. As do Inghams, to Igls, Seefeld, Grindelwald, Villars, St Moritz. They might have the capacity for a group your size and be able to sort the lift passes and gear hire so you are not spending time doing that. |

THanks for this. With us only doing a weekend, the transfer time to the trois vallees is a bit too long - means we only get 2 days on the slopes. Got a few options from companies with weekend breaks - but it is a bit of a mission! Looks like you have got to start booking straight after the lifts have closed for summer! |
