Went back today, all sorted now!
Very helpful manager in the shop, had no problem with taking the mobile back & was ok about changing to a dfferent phone too
He was even helpful enough to point out that I needed a new SIM card to get 3G- so sorted that straight away too.
Thanks for all the advice, seems I was worrying for no reason- although he did say he shouldn't let me have a different phone.
One happy person here now |

QUOTE (Timay - 07/05/2008 @ 16:57:41) Only problem is that it was a "free" upgrade, so no money changed hands, although they did take card details. IIRC it's a credit agreement, so they are still responsible just as if you'd paid in cash. I think you'll be ok if you're reasonable. |

If something is faulty you are entitled to a full refund in original payment method rather than exchange/credit note. In this circumstance since the product is faulty i would assume you'd be able to effectively cancel extending the contract, particularly if you act quickly. Which would then leave you to extend with a different phone.
I'm sure all contracts come with a cooling off period don't they anyway? You could cancel under that and return the phone then re-extend |

Thanks, I had a horrible feeling that they would only exchange for another K850i
I had problems getting the software to work on my laptop for transferring numbers from my K800i to my new phone- crashed every time I tried.
All in all, not over impressed with the phone this time- had 2 Sony Ericsson's before & have loved them both.
Hopefully I’ll be able to persuade them into letting me change to a different phone- I don’t think I could cope with this phone for 18 months |

When I took out my o2 contract I had 14days to return it if I was not happy (iPhone so not sure if its slightly different terms?). I must say everytime I have spoken to o2 they have been really really helpful so might be worth giving the customer services a call asap.
By the sounds of it yours is faulty, I would demonstrate the problem too them instore and ask them to get one out to compare it to, phone shops always have models for you to play with. The problem as foxc_uk says is if they want to give you a replacement K850i. |

Orange also have a cooling off period, about 7 days if I remember.
I have a K850i and I personally have been finding the 3 touch screen 'buttons' a bit oversensitive at times so it sounds like the one you got is faulty. They have to take it back as a faulty product anyway, but they may only want to give you another K850i. Best thing to do would be take it back to the shop asap and show them why you're not getting on with it - ie that it's not working properly. |

| Vodafone have a 14 day cooling off period. I think thats because I bought over the phone and distance selling regulations apply. |

Just wondering if anyone could offer some advice....
On Monday I upgraded my mobile phone (K850i) - Free upgrade, but when I got it home I had real problems using the "touch sensitive screen" as in they hardly ever worked!
I persivered with it for a couple of hours, thinking it was just me rushing it- but it never got any better.
I decided enough was enough & I packed it away.
I'm with O2 & spoke to the shop today- they have said I need to call back tomorrow as there wasn't a manager in today, but the person I spoke to said they don't think I will be able to change phones.
Now, does anyone know what my rights are on returning the phone? I want a different phone- one that works! The phone I want I will have to pay for an upgrade, which I don't really mind. |
