.....or even better if you know anyone who has one of the hidden cabins (there are about 6 of them I think) on Granite mountain then they are amazing places to be invited to for a feast of food and some drinkies.
The one we were invited to (belongs to Jills cousins friends) is called the Stagger Inn. In March it was also Stagger oot at the end of the day as we made our way to the base after the lifts had closed.

The downstairs area at the Red daylodge does feel a bit like a kids canteen but upstairs there is Rafters bar/lounge and it has a nice cosy feel.
The best on hill place at Red is Paradise Lodge up on Granite Mountain, its a great meeting place and brilliant for a mid morning coffee break or a bite of lunch.

I reckon Red's Lodge feels like a school canteen.

It's certainly cute but there is improvements that need to be made for sure.

On my visits to Red their lodge didn't feel like a lodge at all, more like a hanger/warehouse.

It seems there is no plans to make Whitewater commercialised, just tidy up the lodge and theres talk of a new lift going in on the backside, I am pretty sure the powder hounds won't be happy about that one.

Farran: I also hope that the food doesn't suffer. It's the best damn hill food ever!!!

Wow - so it happened. Hope it doesn't change much...

What's going to happen to the tasty food in the lodge?

Cheers Dani,
I was not aware of this happening/or about to happen.
To me Whitewater is perfect the way it is and it would be terrible if it lost its current appeal. Its one of those special places that seem to be getting fewer and fewer as the years go by. Fortress Mountain in Alta is another example.
It may be that the new owners dont plan on making huge changes and that they want to retain the hill as it is but only time will tell.
I will definitely be over for a day this winter from our base in Rossland.
