We've got some fantastic video footage from Whitewater which is still being edited, but have a look at this digital camera clip... we're hiking powderkeg ridge for a drop down a short chute into some freshies
Hiking Powderkeg ridge plus scenery
Of all the places we went, I'd have to say Whitewater and Fernie were my favourites.
(Although if Kicking Horse had some snow, it would've been ace too) |

Boardgirl!!!! What are you like... I'm trying to keep the crowds away!!!!!
We went to Red Mtn for one day and ditched it in favour of Whitewater... White has had the most snow in the region for the last week and it's a fantastic mountain - especially if you've got avi gear and are prepared to hike.

CQ sounds really sarcastic, you sure she isn't just trying to keep all the powder to herself? how can 40 cm be bad?

RIP Teddy Knape, you are dearly missed. 3 continents, 7 countries and who knows how many resorts The toughest mountains are the ones you have to climb yourself... |

Heading from Whistler to Red on Friday. May well give Whitewater a miss. Will see what things are like in Red first. Conditions in Whistler are good enough to keep me happy for a day or two. Things are cheap. Got new board 60% cheaper than in UK. Jill got a new Red helmet at a good price too. So im quite happy !!

Hi
We've just got back from Red/White... White had about 40 cm last week (not sure about Red), the whole are is looking marginal... I wouldn't advise going, stay well away, tell everyone you know how crap it is and tell them to stay away. The snow sucks, the mountain sucks, the people suck... definitely give it a miss. I can't emphasise enough how FAR away you should be from Whitewater... really. Dont go.
p.s. don't buy kit before you get there... they've got mega sales on too.

Has anybody been there in the last week or so ?
Looking at the reports conditions are still good but as i havnt been to either place before i was hoping some folks could tell me a bit more about whats good and what/where to avoid !!
I will be staying at the Rams Head Inn at Red Mountain from the 19th March (next Friday) if anyone is nearby for a beer ! |
