Oh and yeah ive noticed that everyone in my list seem to be online all the time even if i know theyre not. - I think the reset counter that updates the site when someone leaves is a bit broken at the mo and Starnzy is in Tahoe. It'll be fixed when he gets back, so just chill
I don't think there's a lot of over-zealous modding on here, tends to just be the odd thread that spirals off-topic. I think the mods do a good job of balancing the free flow of conversations and keeping things on-topic. |

I'm afraid this has been a little bit of a sore subject on this forum for some time. GONEboarding try to keep the threads on topic, and if they run off at a tangent, have to be heavily moderated.
A lot of the time, you have to see it from the mod's point of view. They have to ensure the site conforms to the terms and conditions set out for a fully accessible (ie all ages) forum. These outline are set out by the main governing body, and not the site itself. Starnzy, the site administrator, does an excellent job keeping this forum professional, and it's no mean feat with the amount of traffic that goes through here.
With hundreds of posts being made every day in several different threads, it's very difficult to keep everybody happy.
The forum is split, into ranked threads, and non-ranked. The ranked threads need to be kept on topic, as they're there for information as much as general chit-chat on a certain subject. If you want to have banter, or a bit of a fun thread, the misc section is there for that.
Complaining about posts disappearing is a little overdone now, the moderators have a job to do, as outlined by terms and conditions, and instruction from the administrator. Please, if you have any more complaints about it, then contact Starnzy, or the moderators directly by PM. Lets not make any more threads about it, as the subject has been more than covered now.
I hope this helps explain it. I'm not a mod no, but I've been on the site now for a large percentage of its existance, and seen this subject come up on many occasions, it has to be kept to a happy medium. If you want a thread to have banter, and go completely off topic, stick it in the misc section and it will be overlooked. Topical threads need to be kept topical, simple as that really. |

Half the threads on this site make no sense they get so heavily modded, im just an unimportant user so its probably none of my business but i think some people need to chill out a bit and stop over reacting and deleting things all the time. We arent robots and just like any normal conversation the topic can shift and peple like to make smart or funny remarks back, its called being human and having a personality. Cant personally see how thats hurting anyone.

The mods have a habit of deleting anything off topic - even if it isn't dodgy.
Please lets not have this turn into another debate on the subject though. |

a few people have noticed some of their posts disappearing for no apparent reason (eg in the slovakia rejecks trip thread and the 10th march thread in snomates). is this a bug? surely not down to being modded as none of them contained anything dodgy!
oh, and is the "contacts online" bit at the bottom left of the screen working right? seems like all my contacts are permanently on-line on the forum...of course, maybe they are......but seems to be the case whatever time of day, day of the week.....
cheers. |
