Biked it to work today, not bad - 1:4 uphill for nearly 3 miles and approx 6 miles in total (=downhill all the way home!)

I've ridden out that way although not sure if it was costa brava or not. Some good riding, although most of the stuff we did was on fire-roads and jeep tracks although that was because of mixed abilities in the group. Just watch out for the thorn bushes - at least 3inch spines for each thorn!...

I did a 35 mile downhill when I was out there from just below the snow-line on one mountain all the way down to the beach. Only problem we has was we were there in July so it meant riding either first thing in the morning or last thing at night.

just back from a 3 hour loop through wharncliffe woods, trails are awesome now that they have dried out a bit, forgot what a great feeling it is to blast everywhere without getting bogged in mud

I try to keep my mouth closed as well for the same reason.

I try to keep mine shut too...sometimes hard when grinning so much, they get stuck in your teeth!!! I kept getting flies up my nose too which wasn't nice!!!

I did a circuit at Nant-y-Arian on Saturday morning. Set out at 6.15 am and didn’t see a single person the whole way round – just one deer and a load of sheep. Wasn’t even anybody else in the car park by the time I got back. Fantastic feeling.

I always wear clear glasses to keep out the bugs or flying mud. I try to keep my mouth closed as well for the same reason.

Went out with a mate from Coventry to Warwick and back and got absoutely covered in mud in the first few hundred yards. Really hard work when it's that thick, even though there's no proper hills round there, but still good fun and we threw in a few offs to entertain each other.

I don't ride without eye protection on-road or off, have heard some horror stories (particularly about metal splinters coming out of truck exhausts!) and have had a couple of close calls myself.

i tend in to ride in the yellow lenses all the time, i recon they add better definition when riding in poor light and when in dappled forest light.

I always wear clear shades unless it's a really blinding day and I'm not riding many tree lined trails.

Just about to get my stead back out for it's first outting of the year, although there's still loads of snow around so I'll be sticking lower down (well that's my excuse for not peddling up! )

What a day!

Cannock was flinking wet underwheel this afternoon, but the showers stayed off. Warm, very warm.

Just wondering - does anyone wear clear shades while riding? Some of my descents could have been neater had I kept my eyes open but the mud was stopping me doing that!

I know what you mean, by the time you get to the end, you have had enough, but I do like it alot, and have a few favourite bits that I love, that always manage to put a big smile on my face!

Can i make a recomendation, this and this! You seem to go to Dalby quite a lot! Although i have enjoyed Dalby, i do think it's very samey, and def couldn't go back to the place that often.

BTW, there's some fantastic routes in both thse 2 books, will be doing one this weekend
