I was on the first chair up Chamossiere today Never had a 1st chair before, it was sweet. The patrol guys who'd spent about 2 hrs bombing it were all sneakily waiting at the top and about 10 chairs before the top they all piled round the corner and down the run Still, it was pretty easy avoiding their tracks and 20 seconds later at the bottom and out of breath it was all worth it.
I'd say conditons are actually perfect here at the moment Not often you get to say that!
All powder days should be on Saturdays ftw. |

Hi Mike, sorry that I didnt recognise your number when I got your text earlier today !(New phone and have lost a lot of contact numbers). Glad to see your trip is progressing well and you are now blessed with fine conditions in Morzine and the PDS. |

What did I say? Worry ye not.
I had to clear a foot of snow from around the van in Montriond last night and today and that just fell yesterday in 12 hours.
Every tree run on the super m was fresh tracks |

Gutted. Wrting this message stuck in Geneva airport waiting for our delayed flight to arrive. Missed out on the powder aswell as had to drive the rest of the group down the mountain early as they thought they'd be snowed in.... Despite the fact I've done it loads of times. We got off with far too many hours to spare..Also managed to nearly have a fist fight with my GF's brother...
Let's hope we get get home before my Macbook battery dies and I run out of euros for our coffee.
Roll on next year...
Out of interest (and to prove a point) how were the road conditions out of Morzine on Friday afternoon? |

Looks like the snow gods are delivering for me again. Hope it snows for the next two weeks until we get out there then I want bluebird days to get a nice tan. A great way to finish off the season. |

Damn right, I didn't get further than super m because it was windy and I was teaching but damn it's getting deep. I did a run through the trees right at the end and it was about 50cm deep |

Don't worry about it.

Exactly this time last year the fields were green and the cattle were mooing. That evening we had 5 inches of snow and it didn't stop all week! |

I went Les Gets side on Saturday and it was crap. Snow getting really thin in places and just generally sh*te, shame as that side can be so good. On Sunday I went to Les Crosets and was actually pleasantly surprised, the pistes were in much better shape, all be it a bit bumpy but I don't mind that. It's rained solidly all day today, probably raining up to at least Avoriaz, it's supposed to drop a bit but I don't really believe that. As long as you stay high (lol like there is anywhere high in pds) then you'll be ok.
2 seasons in Morzine, both utter sh*te in terms of snow. Don't think I will be back for more, in fact, I think they've had more snow at MK than they have here this year |

Know what you mean. Conditions at resort level in Morzine look like the seasons over
I left Morzine covered in 20cm of Snow when we flew home after a week at the beginning of Jan. Seeing all the concrete just makes me feel depressed.
We're staying at the other end of Morzine, next to the Prodains lift so fingers crossed Avoriaz won't disappoint! |

Anyone out in Avoriaz or Morzine at the moment who can give me a heads up on the snow conditions?
Checked the usual mix of webcams and forecast sites but they never give the true picture. |

Let's hope it snows bug time! - Out in a couple of weeks time so already got my fingers and toes crossed. Looking at the Avoriaz and Morzine web cams it looks like they need it badly. Sucks big time being forced to stick to the pistes
Was out in Morzine in Jan and was lucky enough to be catch a good 40cm dump on the last day. We were the first up the lifts in the morning. Can't beat the buzz of putting down fresh tracks. Totally made up for getting the nora-stomach bug thing and week of icy conditions. The Stash was also totally covered in fresh powder - quality.
Come to think of it, was in Les Gets last Feb and also caught similar powder on the last day. Maybe I should just stay in the bar all week and just sober up in time for the last day. |
