All in all, i had fun, didnt buy anything, but saw places to go, lots of promo stuff which is always a good read when bored at home. Bring on the Gmex show this weekend. |

Went last night, it was good fun to be there but in no way worth £9. I'll definitely be looking to get free tickets next yr! The fashion show of about 6 outfits was lame, manufacturers' booths were tiny and only had a few bits in them each - a lot of it looked like demo kit as well, dirty jackets (Peak Performance), bashed up bindings (Ride) , what's the point? Quarterpipe was cool but the short run up only allowed for 1 metre of air maximum, so quite small-scale tricks. (Not that I could do any of them )
Good points: Chatted with lots of enthusiastic resort people from all over the world (Canadians, so friendly), Snow & Rock and Ellis Brigham shops had much more area than their actual stores so more room to try stuff on etc...a couple of other shops there as well, for something different but not really any bargains. Good atmosphere and we had a good time because we weren't looking for gear or anything in particular but it could probably be better. |

Just had a quick look at Tam's website & niticed you can get a reduced rate ticket for the Metro Show, details below:
Come along to the show with the Snowdome and benefit from a special offer of £2 off both weekday and weekend tickets by quoting “SNOWDOME” either online at www.metroskishow.co.uk or over the phone on 08075 90 00 90.
Running for its 34th year from 18 th – 22 nd October 2006 at London's Grand Hall Olympia, the METRO Ski and Snowboard Show features more live action than ever before, catering for all aspects of winter sports.
From checking out the top boarders and skiers whilst listening to DJs playing the latest music in the Boardroom to scaling the Crystal Ice Climbing Wall for the perfect view of the World Resorts Village where you can get the low-down on everything snow related whilst supping a free glass of wine. There is a crèche to look after the young kids while you enjoy the delights of the Men's Health and Zest Fitness Zone or see what you really must wear this season at the Motorola Brand Arena and Fashion Show. This will feature ten of the most high profile brands in the industry showcasing their products with labels such as Burton , Salomon, Oakley and Peak Performance gracing the catwalk. All with not so young kids can also benefit from the new show as children under the age of 14 go free to the show when accompanied by an adult.
Topping this year's bill will be the awe inspiring Trespass Quarter Pipe. A new addition to the show, this will see the worlds' best dropping 20ft into an unforgiving pipe to perform gravity defying twists, turns and ten – eighty's.
