Mayrhofen is a great little town i'm sure you'll have a blast! Where are you staying? You should be fine around the end of December, it would of been open for a couple of weeks since then and even in the worst year your only a bus ride away from the Hintertux Glacier.

Decemeber 2005 was mint great early snow, i wasn't in Mayrhofen but i was in the Austrian Alps at Solden. 2006 December/January was pretty awful for most of the European Alps and 2007 was alright with some early snowfalls but the good days came later in the season.

Igluski goes into all sorts of details:

QUOTE (Laura79 - 05/03/2008 @ 13:42:12)

I've just booked a boarding trip to Mayrhofen at new year for 2008/9. Does anyone know what the snow fall is like around that time not only on the slopes but also in the town itself as we are going in a large group consisting of some from Australia who are dying to be surrounded by it....

I know every year isn't the same but an indication of what it's been like over the past few years would be ace!

Cheers,
Laura

Were goin on 3rd january so would be interested aswell
