I have been looking at camcorders/bullet cams for a while now. The Oregon Scientific- all in one approach- is a terrific idea but, unfortunately, gets poor reviews for video quality and (to a lesser extent) for the durability of the camera.
For ease of use, the helmet cam is probably the best idea but it is fiddly and expensive unless you already have a compatible camcorder. Like a lot of other things, you get what you pay for

Had a look at the new SD card camcorders? Cheap and mega light. Not sure about the spec but cheap! |

Personally I've found a small Canon Camcorder works well.
I have used a Mini DV camera before aswell - Pretty good, easy to carry, but the quality on a proper camcorder was better. (Was looking at a Sanyo handheld one last year - Someone posted a review I think, last season?)
Also, if you can get a Camcorder with a DV in (check this out I could be wrong?) you can attach a "bullet cam" to it for when your riding.
You should be able to get a good deal in the sales. |
