Tis indeed la vie! It can suck sometimes. A good friend of mine took a split second decision to jump into a lake head first when he was drunk once. He didn't realise how shallow it was and broke his neck.

He's now in a wheelchair and has no feeling in his legs and very little feeling in his hands.

It broke my heart when we took the Wii around one time. Thought he'd be able to play it. He couldn't even hold the controls properly. We had to strap it to his hand and even then he couldn't press the buttons he needed to push and we had to hold him in his chair to stop him falling out.

I hate to say it but at least we can still do the things my dear friend can't

Sorry to hear you've got similar problems. It does suck but hey it could be worse! At least we can snowboard still!

I've got a dodgy back which I inherited from My Mum (Yeah, thanks Mum)... Pretty much the same in that it's sometimes worse, sometimes better, nothing for it but exercise and stretches etc. Only been boarding a few times now but it does it the world of good, lots of relaxed movement... unless I fall on my a*se, and the frequency of that is decreasing so

Glad it was nothing too serious though, and it doesn't get in your way too much

Haha! I work from home and am freelance so I can work when I want which is pretty cool.

I went this way because the neck pain was brought on by my old city job. Decided enough was enough and wanted a better fricking lifestyle. Even if it meant less money.

I reckon it IS good news and I'll live. I'll also be returning to the Dome very soon. Have a wicked weekend and thanks for all your kind supportive messages.

I'm off to do the housework!

Well thats sort of good news in as you now know what it is 100% and you can keep boarding.

In fact under doctors orders...why not scive of work for the rest of the day and hit the dome.

I am...but if anyone asks "i'm working from home"

Well the results are in.... Good news is - I don't need surgery. There's nothing wrong with my nerves in my neck and my spinal cord is intact and very healthy.

Bad news is I've got worn discs in my neck - they've lost their moisture and therefore are causing pain.

Only exercise and keeping a good posture will help. But I've got this pretty much for life!

Apparently one in three people get this after the age of 25. I'm getting old basically. Most of you might already have it - it just hasn't started to hurt yet. So count yourself lucky.

He didn't say give up snowboarding though.. he encouraged it and any form of exercise to I guess that's a good thing.

Did get a bit teary walking back through the hospital though because up until that point - and I've had this two and a half years - I thought.. hey.. they might be able to fix it.. But nope!

Ah well! I'm sure people were getting worse scan results than me. So I've got to count my lucky stars.

My bottom lip wobbled then... thanks gbaggley! Just scoffing some Special K now and feeling a bit sick and nervous. Worse than Wednesday morning when I went snowboarding!

God I've had a right scary week! I had my ears pierced yesterday! I couldn't sleep then either. I can't wait for a decent night sleep tonight!! And lots of booze!

Congrats! Glad it all came back, and you had a great time. That's what it's all about.

Fingers crossed for good news tomorrow.

Thanks for the tip! Sunday nights it is then! I suppose they would be quiet due to everyone going to work on the Monday but as I don't really have a 9-5 job I can go whenever!

QUOTE (SnowBugs - 02/07/2008 @ 15:51:40)

That's spooky! I do that all the time! Say out loud 'Bend Zee Knees...' Are you sure you weren't there today?

When is it really quiet at the Dome then? I loved it today. It was really chilled. Apart from a few kiddly bumps getting in the way of my devised route!

Thanks for the well wish too - I reckon I'll be fine. If there's no hope for me then I'll just snowboard even more. What've I got to lose? The feeling of freedom you get when it all clicks into place? I forget about everything then. And wot could be better than playing out in the fresh air and snow all day!?!?

Friday afternoon was fairly quiet.

Sunday morning can be busy as there are a cuple of clubs and maybe BIAD. The last time they had a huge BIAD course on must have been at lease 20+ in it.

Sunday nights have been quiet the couple of times we've been.

make the most of it for the next two months as then it will start to get really busy again which really sucks.

Congrats on getting over your fear. Its so easy for your confidence to take a knock but getting it back is so much harder. Well done
