OneBallJay, summer slush graphite addon.
I love oneballjay wax, they're one of the sweetest smelling (should I say natural) wax on the market |

You do notice the difference of riding with the right wax for the temperature - it makes a noticable difference, but probably only worth it if you are fussy or competing....i'd just use all- round wax for normal riding.
If you want the quickest base then take out a high, medium, and low temperature wax with you out to resort, and put a layer of it on over the top of your foundation of all-round wax, depending on what the temp forecast is for the next day. It's nightly work, but your mates stop taking the piss when you can get bigger air and fly past them on the flats the next day, even when conditions change. |

What's the point in this thread, other than you getting a bit over-excited about some wax ? Just buy some DaKine, One Ball Jay, Datawax, Burton, Bluebird blah blah blah - they all do much the same job and I'm sure you'd have to be Travis Rice to notice a huge difference in wax ! |

Candle wax is quite hyrophobic but possibly not as hydrophobic as a specilised wax. the point is does anybody know?
more to the point materials with a low molecular surface energy have less afinity with other materials which is why they are used to coat your water repelent jacket, yes they are less prone to soiling from other materials not just water because of this affect. i would emagine that wax manufacturers would try to make their wax have this propery too as it would also reduce friction!
any body know anything about this?

which hot wax is the best?
Ok which is the best= which is the fastest.
but there are other factors like availability and price and how often it needs reaplication.
also is there one make thats best or is one make best for low tempratures and another best for higher tempratures?
having said that does it make a noticable difference if you have wax for tempratures other than the temps you are riding in?
how important is it to texture the base in warm conditions? i believe this alows the suction to be broken and causes the board to stick less in damp conditions.
