| Google ads do ok, I used to make about £100 a year on my Norwich site when it was still going, and that only had a fraction of the traffic that GB gets each day, |

Thanks for the answer Starnz.
Do we need to do a fundraiser for the site? I'm sure we can get some more folks to chip in! There are a lot of people that use this site and i'm sure they'll make a good donation to keep it going!
Has anyone got any ideas??
Come on people, we don't want to loose Gb... do we! |

| Google Ads have been added simply because its got to the point where I cant afford to pay the monthly hosting fees on the site. The Standing Orders that people kindly have set up (thanks to all you guys), probably pay about a quarter of the fees each month, and without much in the way of advertising over the Summer months, I have to pay about £150 every 4 weeks out of my own pocket. That's why I implemented the ads (tho there obviously not 'that' in your face). What is made per click through I believe depends on how much the adveriser has payed google for their keywords etc. and I dont have those details. Its a trial really just to see if it can help me scrape through the summer months, cos failing that, the site would have to go down until the winter months when advertising helps pay for the hosting. |

I've noticed, in the last couple of weeks, that Google Ad's have been added to the site. This is probably a question for Starnz: How much do you make from us clicking the ads?
If its a decent amount (or any amount at all), then i'm all in favour of us all doing a daily click to generate revenue for the site!
What do you think? |
