Sort out a few ground tricks, butters & spins, that kind of thing.

NOT blast down everything, but try & find stuff to pop off, 180 & land.

I'm fine at speed (higher the better), just want to sort my slower stuff & try & inject a bit more style into my riding

Then, in the 2010 season, when i'll just have turned 40, the park will be calling

Goals for the coming season:
Spend more time on snow (plus the fridge)
Loose my bloody handbag arm... Thought I was relatively OK last year until I saw a video of me looking like I'd just dropped a Louis Vuitton further up the mountain
Get more comfortable riding switch
Land more airs and get the hang of 180s
Laugh my arse off doing what is essentially as my GF calls it "Advanced Sledging"

A slightly different take on this, but here are my goals:

1 - Get fitter before I go on holiday this year

2 - Make the most of every second on the mountain

3 - Finally take forward what I learn in my lessons, so as soon as my instructor disappears I don't lose all focus and confidence and actually try the same runs I do with him/her

4 - beat my skier husband down at least one run

1. Find a way to get to the mountains without bankruptcy!

2 Get more confident at speed and get switch to the point were I could do an easy blue.

My goals are going to be a little different to the norm, as my physio told me I'm not likely to be able to get out on my board this season.

My aims are to work really hard on my rehab to get mt shoulder functioning again as it should in time for my wedding next year, and to get back to mountain biking eventually. So it looks like I'm looking forward to the 09/10 season......that seems miles away.............

The best way of starting off is starting small and work your way up. As you are snowboarding down a run and you see a bump set your self up to do a little jump off it and then next time try a 180. If you do have a powder day make a little kicker (jump) and try things off that.

If you are going for a season then speak to people around you and get some tips off them.

Ah now I get ya, so although it would be a long time coming as I have only just started boarding (linking turns etc) that if I got 2 the stage where I wanted 2 attempt sum simple tricks would u advise trying them in powdery areas?? I have the whole season so this may be possible (lthough not counting on it)

QUOTE (Alex Absolute - 11/11/2008 @ 13:03:10)

A real amateur question I know, but whats the difference??

If you mess up it doesn't hurt as much in powder (soft landing) as it would on a hard landing of a kicker
