But then I can't keep pretending to be a figment of Bob's imagination

In all seriousness though constantly reloading and resizing the images will just make the pages slower to load fully. Think about people who are trying to browse over dial up or through their mobile phones.

That idea (avatars) has been bounded around b4. But it's been stated that they'll make the site look messy, which I agree with.

Tho, it the thumbnails were all the same size it might make it look better. I think the sites that allow different sizes of avatars end up looking untidy. Not everyone has a profile picture uploaded, so I'm not sure how it would work out.

Just thought I'd wander by and say thanks, not just for improvements but for the whole thing.

If my company IT worked as well as GB I'd maybe spend more work time working and less on GB

Or there agin maybe not

Ive a feeling the new stylesheet hasnt loaded on your machine yet Jonny. The quoted text is in a light grey background/box so it differentiates it from the new post. Press CTRL + F5 in your browser and see if the new stylesheet loads in?

Just a quick idea about this, is there anyway the quoted reply could automatically be put in itallics or something? Finding it a bit confusing looking at some of the replies that have quotes in them as there's no obvious end to the quoted reply before your response starts..

Apologies for the amount of downtime yesterday but it was necessary in order for me to apply some new changes.
The now 'Reply/Quote' system is now in place, so clicking 'Reply' against a post in the Forum will automatically 'quote' the post you have clicked reply against. You are able to remove parts of the post you are replying to by simply editing the text between the QUOTE tags on the Add post page, if you are only responding to a specific part of a persons post.

There is a 'New' button against each post, to the right of the 'Reply' button, which is the same as clicking the 'Add a New Post' link at the top of the page. Added to hopefully cut down on the number of posts being made as replies when they're perhaps not really replies/quotes to a specific post in the Thread.

Uploading a photo in the Gallery will now also automatically prefill the Gallery you were viewing when you clicked the Add a Photo link.
