Something pretty important when trying on boots, as I've recently found out, is to crouch into the riding position a dozen or so times.
Bought some Salomon F20s (see my 'F-Series - What to buy?' thread) online, but had a major problem with them.
Fitted like a glove, very comfy, compatible with my bindings, and true to size (same as my Malamutes), but when I crouched down the bottom end of the tongue dug into the top of my feet something rotten. It's like the pressure from my shins isn't flexing the tongue, but just pushing it into my foot. Very painful, and a serious problem if all F series boots are like this.
Anyway, do them up nice and tight and walk around the shop, but make sure you do some 'mini squats', as it's something the less experienced might not think about.
Oh, and always make sure you can try 1/2 sizes on, no matter what the shop guys say. |

I've had two pairs of 32's and can't fault them. Heat moulded so uber comfy and my latest pair (WMNS Lashed) definately filling the bling factor being white with fake diamonds on the side

They were a lot stiffer than my orginal beginners pair I hit a rail and went flying face first in a heap as they felt so much stiffer and I tried pressing a bit before I realised. But in hindsight I wish I had not brought beginner boots in the first place as I think they were holding me back for a couple of weeks before I made the decision to upgrade. |

When I get new boots it takes quite a few days to find the optimum "tightness" when I'm doing them up first thing in the morning so that I'm not having to redo them a few hours later...or undo them to let the blood flow again.
As SmegHead suggested, try starting out looser for a couple of runs... |

it *may* not be down to poor fit, are you doing the boots up really tight before you start riding? if so that may be it as, if their tight and you start to move your feet will naturally swell up and this could cause the numb feeling. Might be worth having them slightly looser on the lift/first part of the first run if that is the case.
I've had mega problems with my feet even with spending hours and hours trying on different boots until i find a comfy pair, done it twice now and on both occasions I've got cramp in my rear foot within minutes of riding... |

I bought some fargos and beside that im not sure they fit in my bindings properly they make my feet numb after 30 mins riding.
Does that normally happen while the boots are braking in or do you guys reckon its beacuse they don't fit |

Is steezy a good thing? I bought mine cos they're just like trainers, albeit huge, great big, clumpy trainers. And dark boots make me look even stumpier. Take care of the leather and after a quick wipe they're as good as new. Blingtastic! |

QUOTE (Stevey - 14/08/2008 @ 15:11:30) Get white ones! Seriously though, try on loads of pairs, you'll discover that even though they're all the same size, the fit will be different in all of them. Then it's just a case of buying the comfy white ones! White are steezy as f*ck, and they don't get dirty at all either, because the snow is so puuuure! Bought mine because I thought I'd get a white board; ended up with a brown Burton seven, doh! |

Make sure you can try 1/2 sizes too.
All manufacturers do 1/2s, so don't take any bull from a shop that only sells full sizes, and definitely don't 'make do' due to stock in the shop. |

I went and bought boots before my first snowboarding holiday, and loved them. They were Burton Freestyles, which I think look cool as frick, and they were only 140 quid.
Wore them for six days of lessons from brand new, and they were great. I did find they pinched a little on the right foot at times, but I think that was the crappy bindings and my wide foot. Love the boots!
