I would usually say just ride the thing, but as you have an old board can't see why you wouldn't just use that as a rock/dry slope board. But i know the waiting to try out new kit can be excruciating  |

| Yes mate, as with all things, softer items will subsequently wear quicker etc. Extruded bases are more prone to getting gouges etc, so you will find that it will be less durable on dry slope for certain. Keep it nice for the mountain, then when you're back there's nowt stopping you really. I would personally keep one for dry slope, and one for mountain though if you have both still. |

| Cool i see your point i was just wondering if anyone on here rode a extruded base on dryslope im probably gonna be using it on the dryslope when i get back from my hol i was just wondering how they hold up against sintered i swear i read on here somewhere about the bases discolouring or having a burnt effect after a while... |

| I would have said a bit of both really. The sintered base will be harder and more durable however, so would be a factor. My advice is simply don't risk your new board, go with the old one or rent. It wont feel anywhere near the same on the dry anyway! |

| yeah i know what you mean i would be well gutted thing is ive been riding my local slope on and of for years with my old board and touch would havnt done any bad damage to it i was just wondering if it was beceause it had a tougher base or just luck....and looking at my nice shiny new board and having a slope near me it is tempting!!!! |

| I simply wouldn't use my own board on dry slope whatever. I would avoid using your new board on there anyway mate, no matter what the base is, you'd be devastated if anything were to happen to it. |

| Ive just picked up a new board today and was thinking about heading up my local dry slope before i headed of on my hols now ive been riding a sintered base up there for years and havnt had a problem with it i was wondering how my extruded base will hold up as its softer and i didnt wanna chance damaging it before i go.... |
