On a brighter note, i ran with tunes last night and really concentrated on slowing my breathing down and it helped so much more. Thankies chaps & chapesses!

She can be a bit slow sometimes

I guess in order to run downhill at the start of my run i'd have to head to the access road into town .. not too hot on that idea as I see way too many black bears on that road

I think I may start hiking up fast and running down to start with.

yeh i guess that you should be used to it by now - try running downhill to start with then when you are warmed up and your lungs are working run back home

Yup, I am living at 1640m/5400ft but I cannot use that as an excuse surely as I have been living up the hill for 3 1/2 months now and working up here for the last 9.

I am doing the same as you Ally. Picking a point and getting to it then next time running that bit further. It's kinda hard 'learning' to run on the hill as to run anywhere it's up to start with, this may be why I am struggling with my breathing as there is no warming up to the run slowly it's kind of straight into a hard core incline ... does that make sense? I will prevail ... I am really enjoying it, I guess my surroundings helps

well my legs are ickle so my strides are small....little an often and build it slowly

.....I find a point and run to it, at the moment its a bridge I pass under and I run that untill I find it easy then I'll find another point a bit further and run to that. I'm not doing very well this week I'm so tired from work I cant face going out.

as azzie said - counting is good, i still do it now and again, find your natural rythm to start out, i am happy with 2 strides in 2 strides out.

I run with music most of the time now and kind of get lost in it, i very rarely pay much attention to my breathing - it just happens - magic

If you find that you are hurting then slow down a bit, build up slowly week by week.

I guess that you are at altitude right, what altitude are you at? have you become acustomed to it over the past season or so?

Yup, I am doing that. I guess I just have to wait for my lungs to get used to it. My legs are fine and can go on and on but it's just the breathing I struggle with.

I find its all in the rhythm....I count when I run, in for 3 strides out for 3 strides.

any higher than 3 and I get confused
