Yeah we use teflon too sometimes.
Sometimes you can't ptex the board the gouges arent deep enough, just wax it a couple of times.
If it's ptexable then ptex it, but i would do it if you have a few gouges as you will notice it after a while. One or two if they are shallow you can probably get away with.
Probably let the wax do the trick for now. |

thanks dude think I'll leave the base edge, it seems ok but think I'll need to do the side edges, it feels a little too smooth and I've hit a few rocks so will need to debur it.
wat bout p texing?? I've a few minor groves from rocking my board, u think it's best to fill while it's small or do you think it'll be ok for another week??
bout the teflon dude, it's worth the money seriously good stuff. I normally buff it on the first day and then again on the 4th, keeps the board super smooth and it's proper quick (you really notice it when you're on flats, everyone slows down apart from u!! lol) also don't listen to the instructions telling you to chuck half a bottle on, you only need 1/5 of the bottle and then give it a good buff |

I normally do mine when warranted mate.
If you have been off piste and have knocked the edges around abit then get them tuned, or just debur them with a stone lightly. In terms of base, it really depends on how bad it is. A wax maybe once a week or if you don't ride solid all day each day, every week and a half? Also depends on the conditons you are riding in, sometimes your board deteroirates quicker.
Occassionaly you need a base grind, but this is normally when it gets really bad. My mates board looked like swiss cheese and afterwards real smooth.
Generally speaking keep checking your edges and base, both should feel smooth, and your base should not feel dry.
Some people put teflon on their boards as an aid to wax or replacement mid week as well.
No idea whether this works well or not, different views, anyone else tried this? |
