isn't that the wrong way round?? Canon's will generally take any cheap SD card whereas Sonys have to be special sony (therefore expensive) cards

That was the impression i got from owning a Canon powershot and the sony ericson phone cybershot.

Percussive Maintenance and Judicial Manipulation are both tried and tested methods of fixing any Technical equipment

I had a Sony DSC- (something 600), it was really good, but I lost it at MK

I have an Canon IXUS 50, it's a very nice camera and takes nice pictures. U'd be looking at atleast a 7Mb camera with that budget. The only problem that i've had with my canon was when mjwhitt dropped it and messed the shutter up. But i forced it back in and it started working again.

I hadn't noticed any SD compatability issues... must have been luck.

The Pentax Optio S6 was recommended to me on this forum in fact, and I have to admit it's a cracking little camera! Lovely clear screen even standing in the mid day sun out in India.

Hey,

I would say with digital cameras in general - dont get a Canon. They have some issues in that they only work with certain brands of memory card (Unless they've sorted it since March - still no update for mine though. Even though they admit it's a known problem )

My mate has a sony which is really nice - really thin and you can see the screen no matter what angle you are looking at it from (if that makes sense )

Hi Guys,
I'm looking for a digital camera to take on my next boarding hol. One thats pocket size and will take good pics on the mountain and in the bar. I'm prepared to blow approx £250 but have no idea what to look for. What do you recommend
Cheers,
B
