Went to Attla, but they did not have any boots or bindings in. Plus I was looking for a bum protector so we went across to a place called penrose. They are still in their camping season with tents all over, but the guy Chris who snowboards went and got out the new season K2's that had just arrived in, but had not been unpacked yet. He really was helpful, knew his stuff and has offered to remould my boots as I can lift my heel too much in my right boot. He also explained about the bum protector, told me to bring my board pants with so I can try it all on together the next time we are in Truro again. Enjoyed the good service, had a great chat with Chris who was really nice. |

Yes, that could be us. We are just outside of Kilkhampton by the chinese take away on the way to Bude, Next time you're in Sunny Cornwall, stop and chill out with a beer. Its always nice meeting new people. We are normally always at work, boring us and I love showing off the new 2009 range, especially the hoodies, got some really cool designs coming through.
Went shopping for my partner's new snowboard boots today down to truro, he found a neat pair of K2's. I had to remind him not to try and match the boots to his gear. So its not just females who like to look good. Guys are culprits as well. |

| Is your place just outside Bude in an industrial unit? Think I remember driving past this summer when we stayed in Marhamchurch. |

Okay there
September is officially on its way, changed my pounds for euro's, not sure if it was the right thing to do, but with the way everything's going it seemed right. time will tell.
Onto a different topic, since I had a serious wipeout in Januaury this year, could anybody suggest a coccyx and hip protector. that will not expand the bum area too much. As I said I still fit into my snowboard pants, but I think it might be pushing my luck wearing one.
And what cost am I looking at? |

Now are you ripping or what? I obviously have a deeper bond with my goldie than you have with your cats, so I will commit to an long journey to get there with him in tow. We own our own clothing company so we indulge ourselves with a couple of extra days for the holiday. I 'm not sure if cats make ideal traveling companions or if they would appreciate being taken out of their home.
Hope you have good snow where you are going, never been to America to snowboard. My sis, she is the skier, she goes to Whistler every year and loves the black runs. SO maybe in a couple of years from now I will get to USA for a snowboard holiday.
I have hurt every bone in my butt, wiping out on the last trip, it put paid to our trip in April, but I think a couple of Nurofen and bum protector before I set off should hold the pain back.
I had this issue of regular versus goofy and still can switch without realising I'm doing it. which sends totally the wrong signals from the brain to the feet.
But it clicked just before we left and I seriously want to get to an decent intermediate level with confidence. So roll on January |

Yeah, the gym and diet suck. Both have been looming for months now. To cheer myself up and take my mind off it I've been comfort eating... I don't have much of an excuse since I have a cross trainer, jogging machine, and weights in my apartment, but you know how it is. And here we are... September and I've only got 3.5 months to get in shape! Doh!
I haven't been to Gerlos, but it sounds pretty good. I like to maximise time on the slopes, so fly rather than drive (and I don't think my two cats would appreciate the long car ride... they tend to cr*p on the floor before we've even left my street). I also like to maximise the chance of deep powder so pretty much always go to the West Coast of the USA. First trip this year is to Grand Targhee in Wyoming. It's a lesser known and quieter resort about an hour from Jackson Hole. Bit of a gamble going so early in the season, but fingers crossed!
I'd classify myself as intermediate. I switched from skiing to riding 3 years ago and I'm pretty comfortable with it now. I can handle blacks pretty easy now, and some double diamonds, but I haven't spent much time on the steeps. Been helping my g/f learn to board on the greens and blues. So I've been amusing myself riding switch, doing ground spins, nipping into the trees, doing jumps, and other random boonery. How you getting on?
I learnt on trips to Beaver Creek, Copper Mountain, Whistler, Breckenridge, Heavenly, Big White, Solitude, Silver Star, and maybe some others I forgot. Which is why I now can't afford new kit. |

Went through Mayhrofen on the way up to the Hintertux glacier. Did you board the glacier while you were in Mayfrohen?
We rented an apartment so he can chill out in while we are on the mountains, usually I come down for lunch and walk him through the village, play in the snow and then back on the mountains for the rest of the day. when we are not on the mountain, he is with us.
We did a sponsorship with a snowboard group from bideford college in february, printed hoodies for their trip, they went off to Kitzbuhel, they sent some cool pics, had plenty of snow looked really good for February. How long have you been snowboarding for?
We have not been to any other resorts yet as the zillertal arena has +/- 7 mountains all linked by lifts, lots of mountain to board on.
This time my partner will be going off piste with a bunch of locals, I prefer to stick to the runs. |

Not been to Gerlos but been to Mayerhofen,Soll, Bad hofgastein, Hinterglemm, Kaprun, St Anton and Kitzbuhel we not driving this year because we going to Obertauern so there is no point really, drove direct in March 21 hours door to door due to traffic around Munich, coming back was about 12 hours though. Another reason we decided to fly is because diesel is in line with UK now, where is your pooch going when you on slopes? |

So what makes you guys drive? It's a long drive. Einstein stays down in the village, we play at the back of the apartment and alongside the river.
As for the journey, the first year we did it, we slept in the car as we did an extra nine hours scenic tour of germany, Got Lost as we only had a route planner to go by, no map, no tom tom.
The second year was even better we slept over in Paris and popped into Disneyland drove to Germany and slept again in the car and eventually found ourselves in Gerlos on the Saturday.
Absolutely love it, as long as I can make a cuppa of tea, I am up for any trip

I glad I am not the only one, your beanies look pretty cool. in saying that I don't match my gear, if I think about it, my beanies almost match up, Blue hoody & blue beanie, Raspberry zip hoodie to my pink beanie, the list goes on. Which one is my favourite, it has to be my pink one, its cosy and does not slide over my eyes with my googles. Still I will take the whole lot, as I never know what mood I will be in. So Female. I like the idea of customizing a beanie. |
