| its great fun when you get it right! i tried it last year in champy and swear i nearly paralyzed myslf in the process!managed a few though and sucessfully took out a one piece wearing skiier at the same time. |

I was trying them in February when amusing myself whilst teaching. You need a fairly wide slope with a medium gradient. I managed to get all the way round a couple of times when I had the right speed. Was great fun.  |

I did see a chap doing them in avoriaz baby park at new year time was pretty immpressive and looked very skillful

fair enough just my opinion of the few that i know personally they can make the most experienced riders look a bit shabby at times and still a full 360 on edge is quite an achievement. |

I found that it's hugely board-critical. Some of my boards just won't do it; others will nail it almost every time. It doesn't count if you don't carve in and out of it. It helps if you carefully pick the slope and snow conditions also.
know lv 4 instrutors that can only do it every so often!
Um, well I do ride with some who happen to be Casi4 instructors, but they're no better or worse on average than other experienced riders. |

| That was just a joke – I don’t really think this is easy at all and I’ve certainly never done it, nor have I ever even seen anyone do it. I can imagine how it can be done (on a toe edge, obviously) but it’s holding enough speed through the top to be able to lean into the fall line that is really hard. Whenever I get close to this point, I start to stall and end up having to jump round to complete the loop. |

it can be done on toe edge . and easily is something i wouldnt associate with it i would like to see most people try it easily lol.

It's also relatively easy to carve a 360 on the right piste.
Yeah - but you have to do it on a heel edge. And in softs, with a super wide duck stance. Otherwise it's too easy.  |

Parabolic thats the one yes you could in theory model for a whole 360 and calculate how much it bends but...the deflection of that parabolic edge will vary with all those variables I mentioned before. But at a constant speed with a constant centre of mass etc... I guess you could work it out to be possible.
I love techy convs on the snowboarding theme for a change at uni I have to compare everything to vehciles this is much more fun. |

Pretty sure most sidecuts are parabolic and that with the correct deflection/angle to the slope would then become circular, thus a circular carve.
Check out your cone sections in maths modelling... |
