Farimont Hot Spings is actually a municipality (and its in BC - on highway 93/95 sw of Banff ). I think you are confusing it with the hotel chain of the same name.

I went to the Radium Hot Springs a couple of weeks ago, after speaking to one of the blokes who does the Sleigh Rides at Lake Louise- he suggested them as they are bigger than the ones in Banff and don't get as busy! (He also said the Hot Springs in Jasper are worth the trip too)

They weren't that busy when I went & was rather relaxing- still difficult getting your head around it snowing whilst you're in a pool, haha

Just for reference- the Radium Springs don't open until 12noon- so don't get there too early or you'll just be sat around waiting

The drive there from Banff was amazing- 1st time I've driven myself whilst abroad and first time I've ventured out of Banff, so don't have too much to compare it too- but it was amazing in my opinion!

Stuart, is that a different Fairmont you speak of then? As isn't the Banff one owned by Fairmont too?

Been to Radium Hot Springs a few times but never in the water.
We just thought after a week at Red/Whitewater it would be nice to relax for a couple of days at Fairmont Hot Springs before flying home.
A few hours on the hill in the morning then relax in the pools after lunch.

I haven't actually been anywhere else other than Radium (other than a natural spring in the Olympic peninsula USA for some skinny dipping!) but I found it a bit of a disappointment - butt ugly and crowded.. maybe they're all like that..

Basically, there are hot springs dotted all around the Kootenays, Selkirks and Monashees.. take your pick..

Not forgetting White Lady Springs (I think it's called) on 95/99 south of Invermere for an 'au-naturelle' experience..

If you like hot springs, there are a number of great spots in the Interior (West Kootenay) that I like to stop at on my winter road trips.

I would recommend you check out Ainsworth, Halcyon and Canyon (as well as Nakusp if it is open) if you are in the area.

Oh yes! Read it & believe it buddy! It was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!

Stuart, Fairmont Hot springs was awesome! We decided after a horseback ride through the wilderness there we'd enjoy the springs to soothe are aching asses! And whilst chilling we were treated to a thunderstorm rumbled on over the mountains, fantastic experience!

Just booked two nights at Fairmont Hot Springs for the end of our Canada/USA 2009 trip. We popped in for lunch on way to Banff a few weeks ago and its a lovely place with the thermal pools as well as a neat little ski hill.
Its a fair bit cheaper than staying in the Banff Springs Hotel which must go down as one of the most over-rated and disapointing places I have ever stayed in while in Canada.

Curry is practically the national dish in the UK, they'd have to be going some way to beat some of the better curry houses back here in Blighty.

Nazmins in Earlsfield, South West London is a personal favourite.

Why do people love the Curry Bowl so much? My meal there 2 weeks ago (Beef Madras) was very average indeed and the Naan's were brought out late (when we'd finished the main course) because 'they're frozen and we import them'. For a nice meal, I'd recommend the Old Elevator in town or Kelseys up on the mountain (both do an awesome steak!!).
