#1  Calling anyone who has recently bought a Burton board with ICS.  Posted 08/02/2010 @ 11:22
Hi,

Just taken delivery of a new Burton board with ICS. I was expecting the board to come with all the relevant T bolts and screws to suit the channel and also a set of 2 hole mounting disks to use with non EST burton bindings.
The T bolts and screws were taped to the board but no bindings disc's. I contacted the shop and they tell me the disc's are not included and will be another £15 plus postage. Now I am sure I have read some where that are included and even vaguely remember seeing a picture in an advert somewhere with them on a new board.
Can anyone who has recently bought an ICS board confirm that the disc's should be included?? or do i need to buy a set, I know its only £15 but its the principle, If they shpuld be included I might just contact Burton direct and get them to send some, as I'm not in the mod to fall out with anyone.

Thanks

Phil

you shouldn't be paying anything for the hardware. It should come standard with the board regardless of what the shop says. Get in touch with Burton and explain your case, Im sure they'll be more than happy to send you the required hardware (at no cost)

The disks do generally come with the board mate, the bags that the board comes in even has 2 little pockets for the disks.

The ics bindings wouldnt need to have the disks as they don't need them.

They should be free. Mind you saying that the burton shops have recently started becoming a little more guarded with their goods in my experience.

Dont pay the 15 quid, tell the shop they should come with the board. If they dont agree tell them you will send the board back and i am sure you will find some disks winging there way to you.....

I've had my ICS board a year and it came with discs. My mate bought one a month ago and it came with discs.

I can understand Burton not doing them for free as a lot must get binned and that's just wasteful. If you did have to pay, £15 would be a fair price.

I'll see if I can find a set tonight. Pick them up if you are near Chelmsford. If not, you can send me a stamped envelope.

I'll check I can find them first.

They should come with the board and most shops will hand you them free of any charge, Boardwise in Edinburgh certainly did.

Name and shame the shop as these should come with the board/bindings. Ring Burton they'll send you a pair for free. £15 for a bit of molded plastic they will cost burton nothing to have made. I could be wrong thou and Burton are now charging the shops for them but really can't see that happening.

if your 100% certain that they should come with the board, ring the shop and tell them that unless they send you some free of charge, you'll be ringing Burton to ask for them and explaining exactly why you're ringing Burton, ie, a Burton dealer is trying to rip you off. I'm sure they'll suddenly change their mind

We ordered two boards for friends this year, both ICS and both did not come with disks for regular burton bindings.

They did come with them the first two years that burton made ICS boards. there was even little pockets for them on the vinyl sleeve that the board came in.
Now you have to ask for them.
they should be free, just ask your retailer or threaten to ask for a refund.

emailed burton head office in Austria, reply back within the hour, asking for my full details to post a set out to, with some spare T bolts and screws for my trouble.
Awesome customer service, shame it's not like that with everything we spend our hard earned on
