I was after the board as its supposed to be ace whatever binding system they've decided to use and i can get one for dirty cheap...just happen to hate Burton bindings and love my Rides!
I know the bumf says not compatible but Burton are always going to say that as they want people to buy the EST bindings as well (which are so expensive) just wondered if anyone had actually seen it done and know for sure that it works as not shops seemed to be able to give me a strait answer, i bet Burton have told them not to say yes! |

Yeah, but surely if it's a good board, it's a good board...
The marketing bumf reckons you get a better feel of the board and more control because you don't have the baseplate stuck in the way, but it's hard to say if that's true, or if they're just marketing the new concept. Has anyone out there ridden one? I had my eye on the Stria, it looked sweet - but decided against it because of the binding issue. |

| I have a feeling you can do it. Think you need some sort of adaptor disc which I guess you'd get from a Burton dealer. Not sure how good it's be though...... |

| I'm not sure you can. I was trying to persuade my man to get an X8 and he'd just got some new Salomon bindings. We found an online store in the US that had the X8s and had a notice on the page saying 'only compatible with Burton bindings'. I had a quick look just now, but unfortunately I can't find the page again. I'd be suprised if they don't bring out a converter plate soon though. |

| Has anyone tried mounting a regular 4 hole binding onto a EST system Burton board? Ive asked around in various shops but no one seems to know, the white lines product guide says compatible with all Burton bindings and comes with a converter disk but obviouslty doenst mention 4 hole. Dunno if this means its not possible or they being Burton just dont want to advertsie the fact that you can use anyones binding on their shiny new system. Anyone tried it or seen anyone riding a mixed setup???? |
