i have to say, I really enjoyed Friday night. i'm really new to the park riding scene and the only toys ive manged to play on are the ones that are sometimes out on a thurs night (and for the past few week only the kicker was) so was really glad of the opportunity to ride more rails.

think i was a bit ahead of myself tho after trying (and landing albeit sketchily) on the rainbow and the 2 straight rails that i tried the pink double hand rail.. ooh did i fall bad! ive now got a very sore left elbow from when i tried to break my fall but the pain is slowly going... drugged up to the eyeballs! (ibrupofen that is!)

didnt end up demo-ing anything since i wasnt in the view to buy (having only just got this board 3 months ago) and even tho my boyfriend did want to demo the queue was just too long...
anyhow, it was a good night and i feel like ive achieved something by riding the rails that was out.

Anna can't wait to go to Whistler in Feb '09!!!!!

I queue up for about 3mins on two occasions and then gave it up as a bad idea. I agree that it was a little stupid to only have one guys on the equipment tent... I had no intention of buying anything so I decided to enjoy the slope instead.

I'm sorry I didnt get to meet u Mr Bovril, I think I had a mental laps and forgot u'd be there...

QUOTE (apy_yeung - 05/09/2008 @ 10:43:12)

anyhow.. will see you on the slope. cant wait !!
T minus 6hrs till home time!!!

90+ posts leading up to the Burton event and then not a single post about it after 24hrs !!!

so here is my personal experience of the night.

After spending many an hour over the last 4 months during the day on the cfe hill i finally managed to attend a nighttime event.

On the positive side it was good to put a few usernames to faces (but not enough) and the inspiration of some good riders on the night that led me to probably try some stuff i wouldnt have done otherwise. also to get 4 hours riding for only £17.50 was pretty good too.

But dare i be negative oh go on then, it was just too busy for me, i have been spoiled with no lift queue, no gaggle of park junkies lining up for the kicker (which i found a bit intimidating as i have only just recently progressed to trying this stuff). The wait of about 30 minutes to get a board from the burton guy, why only send one person to cover an event at the largest indoor snowdome in the UK !!! come on burton is the UK not a big enough market for you ?

I have to say thanks to the staff at Subvert (not just because of the free beer) who pushed for the park setup which was probably aimed more at the park beginner which suited me, but still caught out some of the more experienced riders.

Don't think as a result it has made me want to buy a burton board though !

so if you went, what did you think ???

I've been led to believe (by my man SuperDave) that the relocate all the old stock for the North West store (?) to the Manchester shop and have an uber sale.
