Was in borovets febthe 23rd 2008
Snow on the rila side was suffering quite bad,the tops runs were ok.The yastrebets side of the mountain was fine,but the lift que for the gondala was taking the piss!!! once up the top it was good snow conditions all over.The drag lifts are very steep and long,the ole legs are full up with lactic acid when you eventually get off  |

off tomorrow for my snowboarding week- heres hoping for some more snow!
friday was spent all day at Xscape- so a bit sore but hopefully a bit more balanced!

Hi Lu,
yes there is - had a companion- then unexpected pregnancy meant no companion! I know it wasnt your ideal location- but i was on budget etc as well- and looks like it is snowing again. I have lovely studio (sleeps three, so flat share no problem) and I only paid £190 (Flora apts on web if u want look)- 4* very nice. Easy jets have good flight deals from london (less than £200) to Sofia and organise transfers. Apartments can also organise transfers £45 return (easyjet is cheaper). I also booked 6 day kit hire, ski pass with three days lessons through apts- pay when i get there - £150........and they organise welcome drinks for groups etc. i fly from edinburgh 16th and return 23rd. happy to discuss.

Hi Guys,
Laax was fanatastic, went with group of 12 and had a ball.
Sorry gayle, but I will be going straight to Bansko on the 13th until the snow stops falling and will not have time to visit Borovets. I hope you manage to meet up with someone and have some fun.
Maybe it would be a good idea to book group lessons when you there and then you could hook up for drinks with the guys you go riding with.
Winterfunman - When you out in Bansko , we usually spend the whole season there so would be interested in meeting up with people out there riding.

Thanks for that- would be up for meeting up. Was a little dubious about going it alone after friend dropped out- but enjoyed it there at new year- and looks like the temperature is dropping, and its snowing again- see 7 day forecast below. Beginners snowboarder but keen if still dodgy on a board.!.

Hi,
We may be in Borovets at that time for a few days.
We live in Bulgaria and have spent the seaon in Bansko, but going to Laax until the 9th of March, and then afterwards due to visit a friend who is now working in Borovets for a few drinks and some riding. We have not booked dates yet but plan to be there around 15-17th March maybe.
When we get back from Laax will contact you and let you know if we will be there at the same time. We could meet up on the slopes and later for a few drinks. Never been to Borovets so want to have a look aorund and see whats its like.
So we may see you in a few weeks. |

in case anyone is interested or will be there- temperature dropping and its snowing again (at last)- good for beginners snowboarding, cheap and chilled- i have booked ski pass, all gear for 6 days and three days lessons for £150.- was there at new year. would love to meet up with anyone else out there- also have studio for any girls looking for flatshare........easy jet has cheap london flights and transfers.
