Yes, but before they bought Mervin they bought Rossignol (2005) (I think it was before anyway... goes away to Google it) |

Yeah just tried a couple. Howell & Devun Walsh. Really liked the latter. Fun board to ride.
I appreciate it's not of importance to how a board rides, but I wasn't graphic initially drawn to DW, white, light blue, a sheep on it. But it grew on me when explained, the sheep jumping to pastures new - Walsh leaving Forum to join DC. |

The company i work for is stocking Dc boards next year. Normally we go for the 'safe' options so its a bit of a surprise. Missed their board test so i dont know how they handle, has anyone actually tried one? Graphics look a bit rubbish on them though.
Oh check out the gnu bstreet on that pic, its awesome, i have to have it next season, i tested it and looooooooooved it! Im going to be so broke!!!!! |

QUOTE (tekilla - 10/04/2008 @ 16:40:06) Strange that it's taken Quiksilver so long to join the market, espeically since Roxy branded boards have been around a while and them buying out Rossignol. Rip Curl - WTF ? Don't they already own Mervin so by association Lib Tech and Gnu?
EDIT looked like we all answered that one at once |

DC boards are made by Mervin... same as Lib and Gnu and all those boards... I think they're made in the european factory rather than the US one though... Either way, Mervin make amazing boards and Quiksilver have nearly gone bust pumping money into DC. That much dollar should pay off.
I think theres another thread somewhere on here thats got a load on the new DC stuff.
Personal vote is with Step Child... maybe not season coming but the one after... Extra pocket money from JP Walker will boost an already rad company right up there. |

| I'm interested to see how the DC boards handle. Also on the Capita's not sure if they've changed the Stairmaster name to 'Scaremaster'. |

Personally I think there are so many decent boards out there that the look of the board can have a small part to play in your purchasing decision. I'll narrow it down to the boards that will do exactlly what I want of them and if they all fit the bill then I'll pick the one I like the look of |

QUOTE (mea00csf - 10/04/2008 @ 12:27:13) i tried a DC out on a hard packed piste day and really liked it. blokie tried one out in same conditions and really liked it too, until the afternoon when it started to snow and the base was slow. Lots of people liked the Drake boards, didn't get on with the one i tried. it seemed to be very heavy, a bit of an anchor on the chair lifts Tried the Drake DA1, quite liked but found the base a little slow. |

| Northwave, drake, venue & bakoda (may be more too) are all under one company - strange they are called drake boards below as the boards are under the venue brand - drake are the bindings |

QUOTE (Bobtastic - 10/04/2008 @ 12:22:26) I was thinking that. It would be interesting to see what they are like. I take it u didnt get a chance to try them out? Did you try next season Rome Artifact? This seasons had soooooo much pop that I was thinking of getting one, but if next seasons is just as good I may go with the newer model. Hey Bob. Yeah I rode the 09 DC Devun Walsh & really liked it - found it a fun board to ride. Also tried the DC Howell but preferred the Devun. Unfortunately the Rome boards didn't arrive in time for the boardtest - which was a shame, but I guess I can't complain when we had 30 odd 2009 boards to ride. |
